What's great about the interest rates?
The percent sign - it is the symbol of great importance to many Americans these days. From banking, to retail, to home buying, buyers & sellers alike are watching it very closely.
For the housing market, there have been the typical daily swings over the past week. Today's rates averaged in the low to mid 6% range, according to a local mortgage broker. How does this affect someone purchasing a home today? For the buyer of a $150,000+ home with 10% down and good credit, this would mean a rate of 6.25%.
And yes, that is great news. Interest rates, even though they vary slightly from day-to-day, are still at a very low level historically. Buyers are in a super position to invest today for their future - from personal to investment properties. The rates are great, so see your Realtor today!
