Winter in the upper Midwest is traditionally a time of slower sales in homes. After all, who wants to move into their home and new life in the middle of a snowstorm. Yet in these days of repos and short sales, it is the time for the real estate investor and the first time home-buyer to be out looking at homes and beginning the negotiating process. Negotiations where the banks become involved can take significantly longer, closings that were originally planned for a month from acceptance can be pushed out. Repairs are needed on empty homes and frozen pipes on homes that were not winterized are not unknown.
As a Real Estate Professional, it is my job to help you through the process, from the first look, through negotiations and up to the unlocking the front door.
Speaking of snowstorms, we got 4 inches last night and are forecast for 10 more tomorrow, this winter is starting out like last year ended.
