I have a 2 tank system

This is my second tank. Between this tank and the lift system is where it was blocked

This is where the alarm is so, that is why my alarm was not going off.
We have lived in the country for over 12 years. We have been very good about having it pumped every 2 years, which is required from our town. The past month I have noticed that our pump was running a lot. Well we figured it was from all the rain we have had. Or possibly it was from our water softener. I decided that I would pull the concrete lids off the 2 tanks. They were full to the top. Not a good sign. I could see the pump trying to push the water out but nothing was happening. No alarm was going off so I wasn't sure what was going on. All I did know was I need to call our septic company to come out. Well when he arrived he told me he would need to pump our system and run a snake (wire) through the pipes to unclog them. That would be the best case scenario. Well Lucky for us that is all it needed. But cost $350 to have him do that.
He explained to me that scope of the problem can even come from food because of the preservatives in food today. A septic system work of a biological activity which breaks down the solids that are put into the system. Today with preservatives in our meat, canned food and soft drinks this inhabits this growth. When theses chemicals combine they can present the system for working properly.
Things to know: Anything with chlorine is not recommended Chlorine kills bacteria the very thing you need to keep your system working properly.
Also anti-bacterial soup.
