A Christmas Fundraiser | Holiday by Design| for United Way of Greenbrier Valley, WV

United Way of the Greenbrier Valley and Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau will partner for the second annual Holiday by Design as a fundraiser for United Way.



Starting Saturday, November 18, 2011 - a combination of wreaths, table top trees and 6 ½ foot trees will be decorated by area businesses, clubs, organizations and individuals and displayed at the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center in downtown Lewisburg.


The community will have the opportunity to view and bid on the holiday/decorative items through a silent auction, with the proceeds benefiting United Way, from November 18 through December 9, 2011.

Special emphasis of the viewing and bidding can be made during:

  • Downtown Merchants Christmas Open House on Sunday, November 20;
  • December 2 - Lewisburg's First Friday;
  • Lewisburg Holiday Parade on December 3, and at
  • Final auction Friday, December 9, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm (free food donated by Bella Casa and drink.) Everyone is welcome.


Local businesses, clubs, organizations, and individuals promotional opportunities - by showcasing their designs at the Visitors Center and through many press releases.


Special recognition to the best decorated tree -

  • the community will have an opportunity to vote with a $1.00 donation for their favorite 6 ½ ft. tree.
  • Each voter will also be registered to win a 42 inch television donated by John Eye Big Sandy Superstore.
  • The best decorated tree will be recognized through a special press release.


Silent Auction will be completed at the final auction on Friday, December 9. Winners will be announced and notified.

voted most favorite Christmas treeCheck out the United Way of Greenbrier County inaugural "Holiday by Design fundraiser that was held December 7, 2010. Fourty items were decorated and displayed at the new Visitors Center. It was great opportunity to bring individuals to downtown Lewisburg to see the sites, shop and bid on their favorite decorated item.


Last year, the Christmas tree voted the "most favorite" went to Jill Allman of Greenbrier Real Estate Service.
