
The timeless story of the boy who asked for more will come to life on the Greenbrier Valley Theatre stage beginning November 2, with the production of Oliver!
Oliver!, which is based on the Charles Dickens classic Oliver Twist, is a British musical with script, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart.
The production of Oliver!, which is directed by Laurie Riffe and Joe Lehman, features a large cast, of which more than half are children from the GVT Youth Education Program.

The title role of Oliver is played by Shane Roper, a high school sophomore from Lewisburg. Roper, who has been involved with GVT for 10 years has appeared in numerous roles at the theatre including Romeo and Juliet, High School Musical, Macbeth and The Greenbrier Ghost.
Max Arnaud is featured in the role of Fagin. Arnaud has appeared in several GVT productions including the recent Romeo and Juliet, Death of a Salesman and To Kill a Mockingbird.
Nancy is portrayed by Kim Morgan Dean, who has appeared in numerous shows throughout the country including several recent GVT productions including Romeo and Juliet, Ring of Fire and Breaking Up Is Hard To Do.
Bill Sykes is played by J.E. Knowlton, who most recently appeared as in the GVT production of Romeo and Juliet. Other credits include in Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet.
Alan Ball takes on the role of Bumble. Ball has worked as a singer and actor in 49 states and several countries. His favorite credits include 1776, Conversations with My Father and Metamorphoses.
Widow Corney is portrayed by Amanda Devlin Knowlton, who also appeared in GVT’s recent production of Romeo and Juliet. Knowlton, who is married to J.E. Knowlton, has also appeared in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Taming of the Shrew.
Dodger is played by Cedar Moore, a 13-year-old from Clifton Forge, Va. Moore has previously appeared in such productions as A Year With Frog and Toad and Beauty and the Beast.
Dave Sucharski portrays Mr. Sowerberry. Sucharski has appeared in numerous regional productions and several GVT productions including Little Women, Ring of Fire and Romeo and Juliet.
Courtney Susman portrays Mrs. Sowerberry. Susman, a Lewisburg native, has previously appeared in numerous GVT productions including Romeo and Juliet, A Little Night Music, Company and Noises Off.
