Greenbrier Valley Theatre in Lewisburg, West Virginia, presents William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, starring Tony-Award Nominated actor Kimberly Scott, October 23, 24, 30, 31, November 5, 6, 7, 13, and 14. The production is part of SHAKESPEARE FOR A NEW GENERATION,
a national initiative sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with Arts Midwest. In addition to the evening performances, GVT is also performing special school matinees for over 20 high and middle schools from across West Virginia and Virginia.
Shakespeare’s most widely read tragedy is as relevant today as it has ever been by proving that power has been a corrupting force throughout history. GVT’s production features professional actors Kimberly Scott (Lady Macbeth), Brandon Morris (Macbeth), Kurtis Donnelly (Malcolm), Aaron Christensen (Duncan), and Jeremy Fenn-Smith (Sergeant/Doctor/Meneteith.) Referred to by some as the ruby in the crown of Shakespearean tragedy, Macbeth is a brilliant and vivid portrait of a couple’s willing descent into evil.
