Greenbrier Valley Convention and Visitors CenterThe Greenbrier Valley  Visitors Center officially opened on July 22, 2010.  The new facility, located at 200 W. Washington Street in downtown Lewisburg, provides regional information for Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Monroe and Summers Counties. 

 

 

 

 

An official ribbon-cutting will take place on Tuesday, September 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Congressman Nick Rahall present. Congressman Rahall was instrumental in securing a $544,000 grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to fund this project.

 

Mary Cole Deitz, Visitor Center Manager, said “There has been a great response from local residents on the new center, and we have been busy welcoming visitors and answering questions about the area.”

I was very impressed with how big the Center was, lots of space and light and a very happy staff.  Check out the Center below:








What you will find at the Center:
  • Hundreds of brochures displayed along with maps, exhibits and an interactive kiosk.
  • Flat-screen televisions provide weather, news and sports updates.
  • Three computers are available for accessing the Internet.
  • A stage in one corner of the 7,500-square foot space (for performances to take place during special events like First Fridays After 5.  
  • A future retail area will sell Greenbrier Valley-logoed items along with drinks and other traveling staples.
  • Upon completion, the upstairs offices will consist of the Center’s administrative offices, as well as the Chamber of Commerce Office.
  • Visitor parking will be located in the back of the Center’s building. 



The Center is open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday Noon to 5:00
PM.



The Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau will strive each day to positively impact the area’s economy by marketing the region as a premier tourist destination. The Greenbrier Valley is the second most visited region in the state with 1.3 million visitors annually and an economic impact of more than $223 million.
