Hello to all!
My name is Jeffrey Mangus and maybe some of you remember me from my other blog here on Active Rain. I wanted to introduce my new partner Amber Thaxton and our new real estate sale team The Home Team here in Charleston West Virginia.
A new year approaches and at some point in our lives each one of us has made new years resolution of some sort and I'm sure that some of you have already done that very thing. As REALTORS, have very many of you planned your new year and what do you plan to resolute?
I know that I personally have not and I thought I better sit down and write down my goals if I want to hopefully repeat the success I have had in the past year. Questions ran through my mind such as.. Do you plan to pay more attention to sellers? Do you plan to make yourself more available? Do you plan to take more time off? Do you plan to prospect more this year? How can you add more people to your SOI or plan to get more referrals. And the dreaded most querstion that gave me chills was.. How can I repeat the great year i've had and CAN I? This thought haunted me enough to actuall sit down sit down and really make a plan for the upcoming year.
With all these thoughts are running thru my heads I knew I had to take action and i needed to take it now! I am not an expert by any means and I am simply writing this blog to let the community know that I feel liberated as I sat down in front of the fire, with a glass of wine at my side and I pulled out a simple piece of paper and clicked a pen into action. I sat in the silence with the crackles of the fire echoing in my ears and traveled to the place in my mind that doesn't get traveled very much if even at all. I started down my mind's road and the first destination was DOBETTER LANE. Believe me, this is very rocky road if you honestly drive it. Here you will find many bumps and potholes that reveal what your made of. What can you do better in your business that will better serve your clients? What can you do to generate more clients and more business?
Next I turned right and found myself on SERVESELLERSBETTER DRIVE. This can be an extrememly hard road if you don't drive it with care. Here, the potholes are hard to navigate but necessary to get where I want go. The answers revealed themselves, more attention, more communication, better service.
Next I turned onto PROSPECT PLACE. Here I found a huge neighborhood full of ways to generate new business and keep existing business. All of the area signs in this neighborhood lead to one thing...prospect daily!. I watched my pen speed across the paper and finally come to a rest. I sipped the last swallow wine as the fire glowed cozy orange as I sat my pad down. Writing my goals out made feel free and knowing what I I want to accomplish this year gave me a inner peace that I can't describe.
I recommend writing your goals, plans, directions so you don't get lost and drive down NOSALES STREET. That is a dead end road.
