The Sun Lakes community opened in 1987 by the Presley Company and was planned for 3,300 homes upon completion. In 1988, Pulte Homes purchased the community and completed construction in 2003. Today, interest homebuyers can choose from a nice selection of well-maintained resale homes priced from the mid $100’s to the high $400’s. During the 15 years the community was being developed there were over 50 different floor plans offered. The majority of the homes are single-story ranch style yet there are a few two-story designs as well. All of the homes, including the two-story designs, feature main floor master suites. Home sizes range from 850 to 2,627 square feet with many of the homes boasting dramatic views of the community golf courses or the neighboring mountain ranges.

The collection of amenities at this popular California active adult community are spread throughout three spacious clubhouses. Each of the three offers its own special collection of amenities. The Main Clubhouse is the largest and features a fitness center, grand ballroom with veranda, relaxing community library and the newly remodeled Sun Lakes Restaurant. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner five days a week plus a champagne brunch every Sunday and live music throughout the week. Also nearby is the Sandwedge Grill offering up quick bites and a charming outdoor patio.

The other two clubhouses, known simply as the North and South Clubhouses feature a variety of multi-purpose rooms for hobbies, crafts and games, workout rooms and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. While the Main and the North clubhouses are open to residents as well as their guests, the South clubhouses is for resident use only. Outdoor amenities include miles of lovely landscaped trails for walking or biking, tennis courts, pickleball, shuffleboard and bocce ball courts.

Golfers will be delighted with the two private courses at Sun Lakes Country Club. The two 18-hole courses boast breathtaking views of the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountains plus they feature lovely landscaping and challenging play for golfers of all levels. Only residents of Sun Lakes Country Club and their guests are permitted to play. Resident memberships are available for around $2,000 for one-year of unlimited golf.

With three clubhouses, two golf courses, on-site dining and a fantastic location, it’s easy to see what makes this California active adult community so popular.
