Coronado San Diego CA

Coronado had a median home price of $1,525,000 in 2007. This is $80,000 less than the median home price of $1,605,000 in 2006 which was the peak for Coronado home values. This is still a median Coronado home price gain of $675,000 from the 2002 median home price which was a mere $850,000. That's a gain of $675,000 over a 5 year period which even for San Diego standards is a big gain. Coronado Island, although it is attached to land to Imperial Beach by a strand of sand is very exclusive. The Coronado Strand has some great communities as well like the Coronado Cays which some of the homes and condos have their own private boat slips off of their patios.

The Hotel Del Coronado is probably what most people think of when they hear Coronado in San Diego. It is a wonderful hotel and I've stayed there many times over the past 3 decades. I lived in Coronado Shores in the late 80's and enjoyed my stay there very much. The Coronado beaches are wonderful and there is plenty of space to lay down your towel and catch some sun or take a dip in the Pacific Ocean. There are some great views out to Point Loma on the west side of the island and great Downtown San Diego City views on the east side of Coronado. Living High at the Coronado Shores

Roberta Murphy - Carlsbad Real Estate North County San Diego Realtor: Real Estate Agent in San Diego, CA

Coronado Shores

Years ago, when I first considered moving to Southern California from Houston, I used to stay with friends at the Coronado Shores on Coronado–which sat just across the bay from downtown San Diego.

My friends’ Coronado Shores condo didn’t overlook the San Diego skyline (which it might have done had it been across the hall); rather, it overlooked the Pacific Ocean and the glorious beach below.

These Coronado high rises reminded me of the oceanfront complexes in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach, where my parents lived at the time.

Just as with the Pompano Beach Club, I loved the secure and guarded entry, the lovely lobby, and the elevator which whipped us up to one of the upper floors. I loved stepping into the unit and never tired of seeing the immediate eye-popping view of the blue ocean out the balcony sliding glass door.

I loved these high rise buildings in Coronado years ago, and still do today.

The Coronado Shores complex stands adjacent to and just south of the famed Hotel del Coronado. It is an oceanfront enclave of ten 15-story high rise condominium buildings. Each building is run by its own association, and has its own common areas and recreation facilities.

Built in the 1960’s and 1970’s, the Shores are highly desired because of the views they offer and their exquisite location at one of the finest beaches in the world. It is also difficult to imagine that luxury high rises such as these could be built along any San Diego beach today.
