The View Is Terrific

I'm in beautiful Mammoth Lakes, California

This incredible sky was taken at Convict Lake nearby. Believe it or not we are outside waiting for our table for dinner. And the sunrise was just as stunning....althought the blue and pink had been replaced by red and orange. Convict Lake has an excellent restaurant, boat rentals, fishing docks and a camp ground. Set far from the main highway, it's a place time forgot. It got it's name after a famous gun battle between escaped Convicts and the Law....but now, just pure recreation. I had the Beef Wellington....delicious.

Missing The Boat If You Aren't On Active Rain...Snowcreek Resort, Mammoth Mountain

Missing The Boat If You Aren't On Active Rain

I'm on vacation....yes, again! This time I'm in Mammoth Lakes with the extended family. Our family (or as much as could get away....darn grown kids), my parents and my 2 brothers and their families.

We are hiking and fishing and boating and loving this area in the summer time. We have a couple of lovely condos right at the base of the mountain, right where those who ski might find it convenient (too cold for me).

Mammoth Lakes is really just that. 8000 feet elevation and a bevy of beautiful mountain lakes to enjoy in the summer. There are trails for hiking and off-road....hoping to do some jeeping this afternoon.

The condos are Snow Creek and I'm in love with them. They are managed for you, and you can also live here full or part time. There is a private golf course on the property and a few pools and spas. Plus...close to the main center while being so quiet.

I really like these.

So...being in real estate, I'd like to know the list prices. Not quite to the extent of scheduling a showing or walking into the sales office...but I sure wish there was an Active Rain Member who worked up here. My husband is hot to buy. He is always looking to pick up properties in interesting places...and clearly we are not running back into the Stock Market until we figure out what it's doing.

But no one claims Mammoth. One of the most popular Ski Resorts in California....and no one. Just one person, with one or two little posts would have gotten a call from me, and who knows. An entire community of agents (see offices everywhere)....all missing the boat.

Within the next month I will be bringing everyone the natural Beauty of "Death Valley" California

Within the next month I will be bringing everyone the natural Beauty of "Death Valley" California

Las Vegas and the surrounding areas have been getting hit real hard with rainfall. around 10 days ago Las Vegas Nevada had the same amount of rain in a day in a half then what we had in all of 2009.

That means around the 2nd week of March the wild flowers are going to all over the "Death Valley" National Park area.

So I will be going to Death Valley and sharing a part of the world that most people think is dead.

I have another photographer friend that has some photographs taken several years ago that are just breath-taking. And this year Robert Swetz (Vegas Bob) will be bringing the beauty to my friends at Activerain.

Here are some photos I shot last year on our visit to Death Valley. Death Valley is very close to Area 51 so this year I might just see some Aliens running through the fields of flowers with flowers in their hair.

That would be a sight to see!

This blog is dedicated to Scotty's Castle in Death Valley and Scotty himself.

If you have never been to Scotty's Castle it is a must see and he was a remarkable man.

I am posting this blog in remembrance of Scotty and to the EXPRESS WITH PHOTOGRAPHS AT ACTIVERAIN group.

I formed this group when I first joined Activerain and it is one of my favorite groups with some great members.

Here are just a few pics from Scotty's Castle in Death Valley and Scotty himself would be excited if he were around to read this post himself. There is a brass sign with some of Scotty's words that he lived by and I found he words to be very interesting.
