Pictures on your business cards

Robert Menchaca: Real Estate Agent in Tulare, CA

SO HOW MANY OF YOU LIKE TO HAVE YOUR PICTURE ON YOUR BUSINESS CARDS??? I think that it's a toss up on that. Me I really don't like putting my picture on my cards, but at the same time how is anyone going to get to know who you are? The thing with me is that a lot of people think that I'm younger that what I really am. I have struggled with this many times. People will look at me and assume since I'm young that I probably dont' take my job seriously...

Are there any other agents out there that have this problem? How about your voice do they mistake you for sounding younger than what you are? I'm 26 years old and I know for my age that is younger compared to other business professionals. That is why I hesitated to put my picture on my card. I guess i just get scared that someone is going to judge me before I even get to help them out. I know I have to get over my fear, besides I have to show how mature I'm when I'm around and older crowd.

I'm not that kind of person to tute my horn but I think that I can handle a job very well, and make sure my clients are happy with my performance. I want them to know that I'm there for them and looking out for there best interest.

Can anyone in my age range relate? Please I would love to hear some stories, I'm all ears!!!

Always talk to your client not at them...

Robert Menchaca: Real Estate Agent in Tulare, CA

We are in sells correct?? (Well no duh!) How many of you actually here the way sales people sound when they are talking to there customers? Don't they sound like robots?? I recently took time out to go to different places, like Verizon wireless, best buy etc...One thing that I have noticed is that no one really pay attention to the customers needs...I think people are just way to focused on making money off of them or they are worried that they are not going to make an commission..I know best buy is not commission based but I know that they still have to sell the products that they have..

I think that we need to make the sale sound very natural. I will be the first to say that I don't always make it sound natural. I still continue to make myself sound as natural as possible. Reason being is when you know some one is trying to sell you a majority of peoples wall goes up. they see that all you are trying to do is make a sale. How can we go about making our sales with out being pushy, and robotic?

I ask all of you to go out and listen to sales people in any way, car sales men, Realtors, anyone in sales. Study them and there sales tactics. You will notice the robot that I'm taking about. At times it sounds fake and rehersed. We have to realize people are different and we can't talk to everyone the same..

If someone likes to laugh, laugh with them, if they like detail, go into detail with them, if they are strictly business then keep it that way. You don't want to make jokes with a strictly business person do you? They will mostly likely think that you are not taking your job seriously. Dont get me wrong I think that you can have fun with you job! If you have fun with you job and you love it, then you will never work again!

Sales people also tend to talk at there customer instead of talking to them. That will also create a person to not want to work with you, there wall will go up! You got to keep in mind that they are not the in same profession as you and you have to be the teacher. PLEASE TALK TO THEM NOT AT THEM! So I ask you this pay attention, you will see what I'm talking about people sounding like robots!

Advertising...

Robert Menchaca: Real Estate Agent in Tulare, CA

OK SO I NEED TO DO THIS..I need to advertise, but I just started in resale. I came in for new home sales and money is a little tight right now, but I need exposure! I have my SOI's it is a start and that is free advertising but what works better? Radio? maybe not, newspaper? Most likely..or the internet. Right now the internet is hot!!!

I think about the internet when I need something for need to know what it is I will be looking for. I don't know what we ever did without google! I love it!!

How has the internet turnout for everyone else??? Have you done any eye catching advertising without being too cheesy? Of has putting a big magnet on the side of you automobile help as well? That would be another way to advertise and get you name out there because no matter where you go you are advertising yourself 24/7.

Boy I think that I'm answering my advertsing questions by posting this blog! Oh and another thing, when you do advertise, do you advertise a picture of yourself or with you maybe posing with a dog, by a car, or with family? I thing by doing this it show's you potential clients that you are very personable and are not all about business, there is another side to you that they can relate to. Great way of doing it!!!

Short sales and REO's

Robert Menchaca: Real Estate Agent in Tulare, CA

I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how I can get into short sales and REO's. Is there a website, seminar, or should I go to my local banks and meet assest managers? And if you have an account how are they working for you? What is the average sale a month with short sales/REO's. I'm refresh to resale so I just wanted to pick some Realtors brains to see what has worked for you!
