Petco WALK.RUN.WAG.
benefitting the Petco Foundation
Multisports.com and Petco invite two- and four-legged runners, walkers, and waggers to join in the first Petco WALK.RUN.WAG. to take place at 7:00 a.m. on January 15, 2012. Race starts at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard (the Del Mar Racetrack) in Del Mar, California.
This is the initial event in the new 5K9 series sponsored by Petco and Purina Pro Plan in support of healthy lifestyles and local pets. Furture series are in Tempe, Arizona, on March 4, and San Antonio, Texas, on April 1.
You can actually walk or run a 5K or 1-mile course with or without your dog, so come out to support your family pet, a friend's pet, a beloved pet that is no longer with you, and pets everywhere!
You can also participate as a member of a team.
Of course, there will be a pet expo where you and your dog can shop for pet products, sports products, and more.
There will be awards in several categories, including by gender and age.... of the person, not the dog.
The awards ceremony will be at 10:00 a.m. at the Wyland Center on the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

2011 Holiday of Lights at the Del Mar Fairgrounds
The annual Holiday of Lights at the Del Mar Fairgrounds begins on Thursday evening, November 24, at 5:30 p.m. and going through New Year's Day, inclusive.
This is the most spectacular light show in San Diego County, and they charge by the car, so you can take the whole family. It's just $14 for a car with five people, $19 for vehicles with six or more people, unless you bring a bus, then its $49 for the bus.
There will be more than 400 spectacular lighted scenes, and you can enjoy all of them from the comfort of your nice, warm car. There is no raincheck, so if it's raining and you have nothing else to do, go see the Holiday of Lights.
The displays are available for viewing from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Every night. Even holidays. No exceptions. Have fun!

City of Encinitas is offering golf clinics this fall 2011 for youth, teens, women, men and couples. Clinics will cover full swing, chipping, pitching, driving and sand shots. The clinic will also teach you the etiquette and processes of the game. All levels of players are welcome. Bring your own equipment or use the balls and clubs provided. Bingo Expands In Del Mar, California.
Bingo will no longer be limited to the Surfside Race Place. At the request of the six nonprofit groups currently allowed to operate the game at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The attendance has been averaging 80 people. According to a city staff report the groups say limiting the games to one venue is hampering attendance, especially during the Del Mar Faire, and racing season. The anticipating is that with the expansion attendance will grow to 120-200 people.

Gourmet Food Truck festival coming to the Del Mar race track this Saturday, August 20th, 2011. Starts at noon to six PM. Forget horses bet on being hungry this weekend . The Del Mar race track will be hosting its first Del Mar Gourmet Food Truck Festival the largest food truck festival to come to the San Diego County. There, attendees can sample an eclectic mix of delicious eats from more than 25 of the best gastro trucks in Southern California, including L.A. Imports Crepes Bonaparte (French gourmet crepes) and Great Balls on Tires (slider-balls).
Admission, is $6.00, children under 18 free. Plus there is a parking fee which is about $8.00.
Also enjoy at the Del Mar Race track on Saturday morning for Bingo, or the horses races later in the afternoon.
