I had an occasion to once again show homes for sale at Pacific Station in Encinitas CA last week.
Pacific Station is a new multi-use complex right in the heart of downtown Encinitas, anchored by Whole Foods Market (offering home delivery!) with 47 condominium homes (2 bedroom lofts, 1-bedroom flats, and 2- and 3-bedroom townhomes), office space for lease, and retail including a restaurant.
Pacific Station is a LEED-certified “Green Building” which is pretty impressive with gated underground garage and parking for all residents as well as shoppers.
Residents can use two common patios areas one with fireplace and a barbeque, or simply take the elevator to the ground floor and choose from about 40 different restaurants.

The Coaster commuter rail station is 1 block away.
The Pacific Station homes are selling well, with Phase 3 already sold out and about 1/3 of the total residents have moved in.
These contemporary homes range in size from 600 SF to about 2200 SF with appliances (except refrigerator) included. Pricing starts just under $400,000 to the mid $800,000s, with HOA fees in the $400s.
If you are an Encinitas home buyer interested in in-town living with tons of shopping and dining right outside your door and 3-4 blocks from Moonlight Beach (check out my video), the homes for sale at Pacific Station are a terrific opportunity.
Why not give me a call to arrange your personal tour and learn more about “burban” living (beach-urban) in the flower capital of the world, Encinitas California.

On a warm Thursday night this past summer, I tasted the absolute best Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. No, I was not in Miami, or anywhere in Florida for that matter. I was in Oceanside, California at the Thursday night Farmers Market.
Anytime I see a Cuban sandwich on a menu, I am immediately skeptical. And for good reason, because most of the time I come away from the experience more than a bit disappointed. Now, let me preface by saying that I am not your average Cuban sandwich consumer. I am (in my opinion) a bit of an expert in these matters, having grown up in a Cuban family with an Uncle that owned a Cuban Sandwicheria on the Las Vegas Strip. I guess that it's safe to say that I am a harsh critic when it comes to the art of making a Cuban sandwich. Side note, I've never made one, I just eat them.
Everything changed for me and my world was turned upside down after one bite from a sandwich at Annel and Drew's Kitchen. The first thing that I thought to myself was, "surely this guy has to be Cuban". To my surprise, the answer was no. The truth is quite simply that Annel and Drew are just really good at what they do.
The inspiration for the sandwich came courtesy of Annel, who had worked at a well-known Cuban restaurant in Los Angeles years ago. Their thoughts echoed mine in how hard it is to find a good Cuban sandwich in the area. Well folks, the search is over.
Annel and Drew's Kitchen started just under 3 years ago when the pair decided that their goal was to serve great food with good ingredients. The rest is history! Both have an outstanding culinary pedigree; with Annel having grown up working in her family's restaurants all her life, and Drew having worked his way up the "food chain" since the age of 16, and graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in New York.
For those that live here in the North County, you cannot afford to miss this duo's cuisine. The kitchen is open for business 4 days a week at various locations along the coast. They are:
I highly recommend that you check them out. Along with the Cuban sandwich, try their grilled Artichoke. You'll be glad you did. There is plenty more to eat and all of their food is fabulous! They also provide catering services. Here's their menu.
Enjoy, and make sure to tell them Ernie sent ya!

The long-awaited Pacific Station new condos are now for sale in downtown Encinitas CA.
The Pacific Station condos are the newest homes to hit the Encinitas real estate market.
Anchored by the very popular Whole Foods Market set to open later this year, the Pacific Station mixed used retail/commercial and residential community offers in-town urban living just blocks from the Encinitas beaches, in the midst of dozens of restaurants, a multitude of retailers, and The Coaster (commuter rail) train station 1 block away.
There are several styles of Pacific Station condo homes for sale - 2-story townhomes (see VIDEO for a TOUR of the model and the views of the complex and downtown), expansive loft-style homes, and flats, with prices from the $400s up to around $1.2 million.
They are taking reservations (with a $10K check) ...a number of homes are already reserved...and will be entering the escrow process on reserve homes soon, with occupancy expected in February 2011.

An interesting side note - the sand that was excavated was donated to to Carlsbad for their Ponto Beach Sand Replenishment Project back in early 2009.
If you are looking for quiet suburbia, these homes are not it. This is in-town living with all the activity and things to do along the Coast Road/Route 101 outside your door and the convenience of being steps from dining, shopping, services and the beaches - a real Encinitas Dining and Shopping Extravaganza.
Be aware the train runs along the back of the Pacific Station complex so you have the convenience of public transportation but there will be some periodic train noise.
