Fullerton's New Face Lift on Lemon Street!
Fullerton is getting better and better all the time. For instance I just read in the Fullerton News Tribune that ....Beginning Sept.7 in Fullerton they will be starting construction improvements on Lemon Street. They will be working on the section of Lemon Street between Berkley Avenue and Brea Boulevard.
According to a city release the project will reconstruct pavement, which includes new cross gutters at Cannon Lane and Hillcrest Drive, reconstruct some driveway approaches, and reconstruct gutters and curbs. This project is part of Fullerton's effort to upgrade and improve the city. The funding for this project comes from Measure M and Redevelopment fund that will cost about $556,000.000
Unfortunately Lemon Street will be closed during this time. Only residents will have access to Lemon Street and signs will be posted along Lemon Street before they start construction. All of this construction is forecasted to be done in seven weeks.
I for one am glad to see our $$ being put to good work. Keep up the great work Fullerton!

Finding Housing for Cal State Fullerton
Finding housing as a college student can be very difficult. The dorms fill up quick, finding available housing close to campus can be difficult when looking off-campus and it may be hard to make either fit your budget.
Cal State Fullerton campus housing offers many great amenities and has some really good benefits. Amenities include: free Internet access with computer rooms at the bottom of the residence, laundry, fitness room, study lounges, public areas for watching TV and picnicking/BBQ. Living on campus is a great way to meet new people if you are a new student and it also reduces the need for transportation. The cost of living on campus ranges from $5775 to $7675 a year depending on if you prefer to live alone or not. Click here for the campus housing webpage.
There are many great places to live that are right next to campus. A few of the apartments that surround the area are Briarhill Apartments, Carlyle Square, Highland Meadow, La Ramada Apartments and Oaktree Court. Prices can range from around $1050 for a one bed-room and $1350 for a two bed-room.

Visit the University's websiteto find resourses for finding off-campus housing.
Or call 714-469-8198 for a Fullerton Re/Max Realtor who can help you find a house or apartment to rent.

Community Events at Cal State University
Often times Universities can be seen as being alien to the communities around them, not being really connected with the problems they face or connected to their culture. A great thing that many do not know about is the many offerings Universities make to their communities - offerings that reach out to the community and invite them to connect with one another.
Cal State Fullerton offers many of these great community gatherings in areas such as the arts - dance, music, painting, sculpture - and sports.
For the month of March there are over 20 events. Some highlights to come:
the Inca Peruvian Ensemble - March 20

the PARAGON RAGTIME ORCHESTRA- the music of George M. Coha - February 28th.

Tickets can be bought on the University website here.
