About Gilroy's Eagle Ridge

On Sunday, September 14, 2008 the residents held their annual golf tournament. The money collected is used to sponsor charity, and this year's charities were Hospice of the Valley and Mt. Madonna YMCA. The exact figure is not in yet, but apparentl;y we raised almost $4,000 for these two fine charities. Nancy and Gary DFrimann were golf committee chairpersons, and would like to thank all the volunteers for a successful day, and also the many, many sponsors.

THINGS TO DO IF YOU LIVED IN EAGLE RIDGE

I recently visited Gilroy Gardens, which is located right next to Eagle Ridge. I had a great time, and recommend this park to everyone--young and old! I had been there are previous occassions, for Gilroy Chamber of Commerce functions, etc. but when I went last Wednesday just to visit the park and see what it was all about, I found out what a great place it was.
It is truly family oriented, and family fun to the fullest. It is very stroller friendly, and I did notice a lot of people with baby strollers.
There are rides for kids of all ages, mostly catering to the younger children, and I would recommend the roller coaster to the pre-teens on up. One could take in the whole park in a day, and still go for another ride on their favorite ride, but it may7 take two days to get the whole park. I also noticed that a lot of people seemed to know where they were going, so I figured it was a return visit for them. There is plenty to take in, and two or more trips may be necessary, without any boredom.
Family entertainment at its finest! With rising gas prices, this makes for an excellent day trip for residents of Silicon Valley and the greater Bay Area, without incurring the cost of overnight accomedations.

It is good, clean fun for the entire family, and perhaps an alternative to Great America, or the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The main feature are the "Circus Trees" which are trees spliced together into interesting shapes. This alone, I think, would stick mopst in a child's mind, and the park is definitely "green" as it is a park dedicated to trees.

There are rides, education areas, refreshments, water fountains for the kids to play in, and plenty to see and do. I can see why this park is so popular, yet it does not seem crowded. On hot days, there are plenty of rest areas, in the shade, so it is a comfortable place to visit.
I was impressed as to how clean the park is, and how well planned it is. It is great fun for the whole family, even grandparents. Kids love it as well. Truly a unique place to visit.

Corde Valle Golf Course was recently ranked Number 14 if the golf Digest's Index of the "World's 50 Best Golf Hotels" in their Spring 2008 edition.

CordeValle is located about 5 miles north of Eagle Ridge. It is sure nice that it got the attention, as it brings attention to golfing to Southern Santa Clara County. Eagle Ridge is located in Southern Santa Clara County in Gilroy. For those seeking natural beauty, and little hassle from the courses of San Jose and the peninsula, both of these courses are located in Santa Clara County, and both are golf course communities. Corde Valle has fewer homes compared to Eagle Ridge, and they run almost twice as much in price, but they are gorgeous. The lots are surrounded by vineyards, which are maintained by Clos La Chance Vinyards.

In addition to its overall ranking, CordeValle was also recognized and ranked #2 for "Top Wine and Drinks," #4 for "Top Rooms," and #3 for "Top Service".

Corde Valle is also well known as a conference center by those of us who live in the South County, holding wedding receptions and business seminars.
