Details Gated Community
Homes 60
HOAs $275 monthly (includes frontyard landscape maintenance)
Prices $400K to $700K
La Cantera in La Quinta is a marvelous little gem of a community, only 60 luxurious homes tucked in a gated community off Avenue 52, west of the Jefferson roundabout and across from The Hideway Golf Club. With architecture inspired by Santa Barbara’s iconic Spanish-Moorish architecture, Vista La Quinta partners designed one- and two-story semi-custom mini estates situated on gently curving streets.
There is no golf course or guard-gated entrance, therefore the HOAs—which include front landscaping—are a reasonable $232. The richly painted homes boast casitas, granite, smooth exterior stucco, sky decks and expansive patio overhangs to enjoy the indoor/outdoor desert lifestyle. Energy-efficient features include tankless water heaters and insulated exterior walls.
The intimate community debuted in 2005 and offered five floorplans with footage ranging from 2300 to 3480 square feet. Prices started at $700K and went up to $800K. Over the next few years, prices soared over $1M. Since the market downturn, there have been a handful of distress-sale bargains appear which are quickly snapped up.
