La Quinta's own PGA West hosted the Human Challenge (formerly Bob Hope Classis) and it was HUGE! As a local, the added traffic congestion and travel time can be so irritating! But..breathe and be thankful that people care enough to come to town, fill the Hotels, eat at our restaurants, dance at our night spots, hike, swim, see a polo game and yes..GOLF!

This tournament is huge and Mark Wilson came through for the win!

Along with the Humana this weekend were League Playoffs at both Empire and Eldorado Polo Fields, Farmer's Market in Old Town on Sunday, Art Under The Umbrellas' in Old Town on Saturday..I tell you, La Quinta's winter season is rockin and rollin!

Tom Weiskopf Private Course
This Scottish links-style course has wide fairways making the Tom Weiskopf Private Course great for higher handicaps. The Tom Weiskopf Private course has been known to host the PGA Tour Qualifying School Finals.

TPC Stadium Golf Course
Designed by Pete Dye, the TPC Stadium Course hosted the Skins Game for more than 5 years. This course is challenging but worth the effort.

Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course
Also a host to the PGA Tour Qualifying School Finals, the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course is challenging yet a favorite among members. The marvelous mountain views are interconnected with the lakes on the course and bordered by railroad ties.

Greg Norman Course
The only "desert-scaped" course in PGA West, the Greg Norman Course offers members a different type of scenery with crushed white marble bunkers and wild flowers along the green fairways.

Yes, I admit it..I'm a Realtor that LOVES BevMo. I often shop there for my Closing Champagne, and yesterday I was doing just that. The kind gentleman that approached me turned out to be...a former client!! Who knew? We got to talking..

"So, what did that Short Sale at the end of the block sell for?" he asks me finally.

I tell him.

"Well, I'm in the same boat, but my attorney told me to forget about a Short Sale..just a pain in the butt. He told me to just walk away when I'm ready."

I felt the blood rush to my head..time to bring out my Reality Hammer and start swinging. But, here? In the Liquor Store? Swinging at an employee? Absolutely! No time like the present..

Realtor mode kicks in.."Why would a bright man such as yourself believe that? Have you met with a Short Sale Agent? Have you spoken with your CPA or Tax Consultant? What's in it for your Attorney to advise you to walk away without attempting to mitigate the harm to your credit and possibly to your ability to buy again?"

"I don't care about my credit, Kim...so what's the point?"

We ended up standing in the aisle talking about variious "short sale points". After about 15 minutes, I said, "OK..now we've covered Short Sales, can we head over to the Champagne?"

"Sure! What're you looking for?"

"Oh,", I shrugged. "I just closed another Short Sale and I need a bottle of Dom for my closing."

His look of surprises was priceless. We shuffled off to the locked case of Champagnes. After getting down my box of Dom, he turned to me..

"Great to see you again. I'll re-think this Short Sale stuff."

I gave him a hug, and handed him a card.

Like I said, "A funny thing happened to me in the Liquor store..."

Golf
A Premier Golf Membership entitles the Member, spouse and their unmarried children under the age of 23 to use all of the golf, tennis and fitness facilities as well as enjoy all the social events and activities offered at The Club. $115,000 Membership Deposit & $825/monthly dues and Cart/Trail Fee $62/month.

Resident - Available to applicants who purchase a residence of PGA West with Golf Membership rights available. This membership is not recallable.

Non Resident - Available to applications that do not own property at PGA West or it's designated communities. This membership is recallable.

Sports
A Premier Sports Membership entitles the Member and immediate family to use all of the health and racquet club facilities and enjoy social events and activities at The Club. A Sports Member has limited access to PGA West's six golf courses and pays the appropriate Member-Guest greens fee. $50,000 Membership Deposit & $275/monthly dues.

Junior Golf
With all privileges of Premier Golf Membership, the Junior Golf Membership is available only to participants under the age of 40 and provides special interest-free financing. $115,000 Membership Deposit & $825/monthly dues and Cart/Trail Fee $62/month.

Desert Golf Option
The Desert Golf Option entitles the member to golf on the six PGA West courses and the three La Quinta Resort & Club courses. Also entitles members to Spa, Tennis and Fitness privileges at La Quinta Resort & Club. No Additional Deposit & $275 monthly dues.

Social
A Premier Social Membership entitles the Member and immediate family to dine in all of the Clubhouses and participate in all of the social events and activities. A Premier Social Member may elect to expand his membership to include Health & Racquet Club privileges as well. $25,000 Membership Deposit & $132/monthly dues. With tennis & fitness $220/month.
