The Baby Boom years saw the addition of several subdivisions in Livermore. From 1950 through 1966, the Jensen Tract as it is commonly referred to, sprung up in the southeastern portion of Livermore.
These modest one story ranch-style homes were primarily built with 3 bedrooms, 1 or 2 bathrooms and with 1 or two car garages. Some larger models have a 4th bedroom. Over the years, this has been a popular neighborhood due to it proximity to both Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratory – two of the largest employers in Livermore. Some of the original models have changed dramatically as homeowners have added second stories or updated exteriors with more contemporary styling.
This community does not have an HOA.

Well, sort of. Livermore resident Jason “Wolf” Hamlin has received a coveted Golden Ticket, sending him to the next round of the competition in Hollywood, with auditions set to air on February 8th and 9th.
We got a sweet taste of Jason’s talent last week, with a surprise guest appearance at the Livermore Downtown Inc.’s Board Installation. As Executive Director Rachel Snedecor showed a quick clip of Jason ‘s first audition which garnered high praise from the judges. When she asked the audience, “would you like to see another?”, Jason took the stage with his ‘git fiddle’ and treated us all to his rendition of Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues.
For those wanting to hear more Jason mozied on down to the First Street Alehouse later that evening where a packed house was treated to an upclose an personal look at the A.I. hopeful. Jason had a busy week, again performing in Livermore at McGrail vineyards on Saturday afternoon.
If this past week is any indication, Jason has a HUGE fan base in Livermore. Hollywood week starts Wednesday where we all hope to see Jason get his time in the limelight. Hopefully, it’s one of many more Idol performances to come.
Check out Wolf's American Idol audition.
