Every year about this time the City of Lodi, in San Joaquin County in the Central Valley of California, has a celebration of the return of the Sandhill Cranes. These magnificent birds with their long legs and necks and their six to eight foot wing spans have been migrating to this area long before the City of Lodi even existed.

People come from all over to make their way to the wildlife refuges, wetlands and fields surrounding Lodi to catch a glimpse of the Sandhill Cranes. These people come with sketch pads to draw these spectacular cranes, cameras with long lenses to capture that one picture that, for them, will sum up the entire experience or binoculars to get a good close up view of the cranes. The Sandhill Cranes will mesmerize everyone with their wings spread wide in majestic flight or the unique dance they do with their wings spread wide when mating or with their enchanting call that has been likened to the sound a distant French horn.
Come to the festivities on November 4th through the 6th at Hutchins Street Square where they will host the 15th Annual Sandhill Crane Festival to celebrate the return of these ancient travelers to the Lodi area.
Legacy Estates is just a short distance South from Hutchins Street Square where the Sandhill Crane Festival will be held. Just because the Sandhill Cranes come to Lodi and then leave, does not mean you cannot come to Lodi and stay. Contact The Nines Team Realty and have our team find just that special place in Legacy Estates or anywhere in Lodi.

What goes down does not necessarily come back up…
Anyone remember playing with a Yo-Yo way back when? I myself could
never master the tricks I saw others doing so my yo-yo career was very short lived.
Right here in Lodi, California is the largest display of yo-yos in the world. Yes sir, right here in Lodi and it is spelled with a y followed by an o…. Okay, Harold Hill I am not, so I better stop now.
Anyhow, there are more than 2,000 yo-yos displayed in seven cabinets on two floors in the hallways at the Hutchins Street Square Community Center. The display is courtesy of Steve Speegle an admitted yo-yo super collector.
Even with the display at the Hutchins Street Square community center being the largest in the world, it is only about 40% of Mr. Speegle’s entire collection. This fellow really knows his yo-yos, making this display well worth the trip to see.
The viewing of this display is free of charge anytime during the regular business hours of the Hutchins Street Square.
While you are in Lodi, look around to see what else is here. You never know you just might like this friendly town and want to live here.
Give me a call at 209-625-8231 at The Nines Team Realty and we can talk about finding you a home here in Lodi, California.
