Mission Viejo Family YMCA: Handball

As a long time member of the Mission Viejo Family YMCA, I've had the privilege of participating in a number of the many activities that are available.  Nothing has been more enjoyable than Handball.

The competition and bonding between the players makes this experience much more valuable than the final score, and who won or lost the game.  The relationships that I have, with this special group of Handball Players at the Mission Viejo Family YMCA, is cherished and appreciated.  While we go all out to win every game, we quickly congratulate the winner and move on to the next game.  It's the challenge, competition and companionship that keeps us coming back.   

Despite pain, injuries and surgeries, we all want to be on the court.  During the games we focus on the score and every point, but after the game, we socialize in the hallway.  We talk about what's going on, traveling, fishing, work, family and anything else that we choose to share. 

I have sold homes to and for a few Handball Players, as their Real Estate Agent, but they have always been and will always be My Friend.

The Mission Viejo Family YMCA offers a healthy environment for all age groups. The activities include swimming, volleyball, weights, basketball, racquetball, handball, arena soccer, spinning and a variety of aerobic equipment, classes and programs of all types and interests, including the very popular Zumba classes.

Mission Viejo Family YMCA: Arena Soccer

With little advance notice my friend, client and Attorney, Marc Reich, invited me to watch him play in an Adult Arena Soccer Game, that was taking place at the Mission Viejo Family YMCA.  He asked me to bring my video camera, because I had recently shown him a couple of community videos that I had produced, featuring the Mission Viejo Family YMCA.

This was the first Arena Soccer Game that I have ever attended.  It was great!  

The action was all contained in the space of a tennis court and the constant motion, activity and frequent scoring made this a very exciting event for spectators.  Just imagine how much fun it will be when I capture a Youth Arena Soccer Game, with parents disputing calls and cheering non-stop for each of their children.  I can hardly wait.  

Marc was the goal keeper, and I applaud him for his effort and tenacity.  
He dives to block shots, hustles to get into the right position and drops to the ground, to grab the ball from other players.  He is fully engaged and committed to do what it takes, for his team to win.  Marc is over 45 years old, but being older does not take away our desire to compete and to win.  Being active and competitive helps to keep us young.
