The Toshiba Golf Classic is beginning tomorrow at the Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach. The Newport Beach Country Club is located at 1600 East Coast Highway, Newport Beach, CA 92660.

The Toshiba Golf Classic begins March 12 - 18, 2012. Fred Couples is returning again this year. He is definitely a fan favorite (and actually a favorite of mine as well). Another favorite who is also playing in the tournament is Lee Trevino.

The 2012 Toshiba Classic will benefit the Hoag Hospital's Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center. The goal is to raise awareness and educating people prevention of diabetes and treatment. Hoag Hospital's Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center provides comprehensive services for adults and children with diabetes. The 2010 Toshiba Golf Classic raised over $900,000 for Hoag Hospital.

Newport Beach Hosts the Toshiba Classic

The Toshiba Classic makes it annual return to Newport Beach, with events running from March 12th to March 18th. The Champions Tour event is always a favorite for the locals as well as for the Champions Tour Players. The event will be held at the Newport Beach Country Club, with the Monday Pro-AM starting off the week. The actual Champion Tour play starts on Friday March 16th and ends on Sunday the 18th.

For the complete schedule of events or to purchase tickets check out Toshiba Classic. Plan on the a little more traffic around Fashion Island, with more people enjoying the local eateries. You may even see your favorite player out enjoy some of Newport Beach's favorite spots. Fred Couples, always a local favorite will be in the field as will Nick Price who is back to defend his title in 2011.

An interesting note, while most of the players will stay at one of the local hotels either in Newport Beach or Newport Coast's Pelican Hill. Some of the players own homes in Newport Beach and the surrounding area. Others rent Irvine Terrace Homes which is located across from Newport Beach Country Club and Sea Island Condos which is located on the golf course.

First impressions are everything when a buyer is looking at a home. Even though in some areas, the inventory is low, you want to make sure your home is priced to sell and prepared to sell.

  1. Address deferred maintenance. If there is something you have been putting off repairing (i.e. plumbing issues, HVAC, electrical) then now is the time to address and repair it. And KEEP your receipts. Once your home gets into escrow, a buyer will have a physical inspection of the property, and that is where deferred maintenance can show up.
  2. Paint interior a neutral color. If you have a room that is some kind of unusual color, you want to remember that you are appealing to the majority of people. Don't forget baseboards as well.
  3. Clean closets, organize drawers, and start thinking like you are moving. Get rid of un-necessary items, have a garage sale.
  4. Organize your garage, as that is an important consideration for many home buyers.
  5. De-clutter!!! One of the most important considerations when preparing your Newport Beach home to sell. Less is more, and the home will appear organized and clean.
  6. Take down personal photographs. Buyers and agents alike get distracted by the personal photographs. They want to find out if they "know" who lives there. Do yourself a favor, and maintain your privacy as much as possible.
  7. Plant spring annual flowers out in front. Flowers create wonderful curb appeal.
