Newport Beach officials to discuss Newport Beach CA Water Taxi

Tonight, Newport Beach officals will discuss whether or not to put the issue of a Newport Beach Water Taxi in front of residents and business owners.
Newport Beach Water Taxi service could start as early as this summer.
Share your thoughts about the Newport Beach Water Taxi.
Will you use the Newport Beach Water Taxi?
Do you use the current ferry? Do you think the Newport Beach Water Taxi will be competition for the ferry?
Marina del Rey currently operates a water taxi during the summer months.
In this economy, will all of the layoffs, short sales, and foreclosures, do you think there is a need for a Newport Beach water taxi? Of will it help bring revenue to the city?

The median list price for the Balboa Island zip code is $2,595,000 compared to the Lido Isle zip code at $2,195,000. Both these communities are on the water in Newport Beach. Why the difference? I'm not sure. Maybe it's the fact that Balboa Island is more of a little city. It not only has residential properties but you will also find many retail shops and restaurants on Marine Avenue. Lido Isle is only residential. Although not far from the Lido Village shops! At times prices were about the same at both locations but today Balboa Island is pricier. Take a look!

Yesterday December 6, 2009 was a busy day in Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar. We had the Balboa Island Christmas Tree Lighting and the Corona Del Mar Christmas Walk. I started my morning attending Mariners Church and then my husband and I went to Balboa Island for lunch. We also stopped by to visit our daughter, she works at Magnolia Charlies, a kids clothing store on Balboa Island that has darling things. The main purpose of our visit to Balboa Island was to see the Christmas Tree Lighting but we were a bit early. The shops were open and Christmas shoppers were out. The Island was starting to get ready for the event and the snow had been delivered. We have our snow delivered by truck, mother nature doesn't help out here, but I'm glad because I love warm weather.
Just as we were finishing up lunch a friend called and wanted me to join her at Fashion Island for a little shopping. Since I was early for the Tree Lighting I decided to take my husband home (he's no fun shopping) and I met my friend Leslie. We had to make one stop, and that was at the Corona Del Mar Christmas Walk. This is an annual event that the chamber puts on every year. There is entertainment, food, gifts, booths filled with Christmas shopping items and of course the adult beverage location. Newport Beach is a very small community and everyone knows everyone. We ran into many of our friends, had a fun time people watching and then off to Fashion Island.
I ran out of time and could not go back to see the Balboa Island Christmas Tree Lighting, I had dinner plans with friends at Benihana's restaurant!
Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar are fun communities. There is always something going on no matter what age you are.
Feel free to contact me for a tour of my community! I love living here!!!

Balboa Island a beautiful location! A summer vacation place. A spot I get to visit often. I love taking walks on the Island and really love to shop here. So this morning my daughter, husband and I took our 3 dogs for a walk. It was beautiful! As usual there were people every where. Our first stop was Starbucks and then we went on to walk along the canal.

Here's a shot of the canal looking out to the Newport Harbor. It's hard to believe that once parcels of land use to cost $250.00 here on Balboa Island. Cottages and Mansions now start $1,300,000 all the way up to $10,000,000. The streets are named after stones: Crystal, Amethyst, Emerald and so on. Parking is not always easy on the Island especially on weekends and holidays.

Homes along the bay front have their own docks and small patches of beach are found between the homes.

This is one of my favorite style of homes. The Plantation Style. There's only a few on the Island and this one is on South Bay front! The best location on Balboa Island.

Above you can see a view of the canal homes.

This is Hershey's market.
This is Dads Frozen banana. A favorite on the Island.

Home owners are getting ready for Halloween. Holidays are always a big celebration on the Island.

Marine Avenue has many shops, restaurants, and galleries. There's also the Balboa Island museum. All year long there are many fun activities going on the Island. Feel free to contact me for more information on Balboa Island.
