Localism is a bustling collection of hyper-local communities, and the top neighbors should reflect those members who are most active. When ranking users in a given region, several factors are considered. To get your foot in the proverbial door, you need to have posted at least one "Localism" article or photo for the region.
The very best way to quickly rise to #1 is to post high-quality local content. Keeping a steady strem of incoming posts and photos will massively tilt the scales in your favor.
What doesn't count toward the top neighbor ranking? ActiveRain points and community sponsorships. The top neighbor spots will always go to the most active members in a region. We want to create a level playing field that encourages the growth of communities — talent and dedication are required to win the day.
Oceanside is the northern-most coastal community in San Diego County just south of Camp Pendleton, and the 3rd largest city in San Diego County. With an area of around 41 square miles, rolling hills, and several miles of coastline, Oceanside offers a diverse geography to the 170,000 residents. There is a broad mix of housing, including multiple 55+ communities, and the rapid growth of the community since the 1970s has transformed it into a city of significant industrial and commercial development in addition to the large residential area.
With a focus on active senior living, the majority of homes are single level without stairs, although some have stairways leading to the unit or to the parking area. Some units offer carports, while other have garages of varying styles and sizes. The climate is very pleasant year-round, with a location midway between the cooler, damper coast and the hotter inland areas.
