Pavel's Bakerei IS What a great bakery is made of. Get there early as they run out of goodies fast.. there is a wide variety of sweets, breads, sandwiches, pizza. It is a great place to meet a friend, or grab treats on your way. I always stop there and bring special treats when going to friends houses....Probably why I have been getting alot of invites...

I have decided that the cream cheese danish is my new best friend. It is crispy on the outside, with a generous portion of cream cheese and a flaky pastry...reminds me of the cream cheese danish my mom used to make.

The bread, that is another story. I went there on Christmas Eve, right when they opened, and the line was down the street and around the corner. By the time I got my turn, they had sold out of the bread I had intended to get, but I purchased the Sun dried Tomato and my family has not stopped talking about it. They have the best bread one can ever taste. 3 Seed Farmer's Bread was my introduction to the place a few years ago. It has a crunchy crust that is laden with seeds, and a texture that is hearty, yet light. (makes great healthy toast). The Cheddar Sourdough warmed in the oven...pure delight.

Every pastry is HUGE and the prices are ridiculously reasonable. $2.00 for fruit danish up to $2.75 for a berry cream cheese danish. You can share each one with 2-3 people. (even though you won't want to). . They have a glazed doughnut that is the size of a dinner plate, a cinnamon roll that puts any other to shame. Try the filled round doughnuts called "bombolini".

Don't miss their sandwiches for a delicious lunch or snack... Turkey and Cheese on Farmer's Baguette, $3.95, or Salami and Cheese on Italian Sesame Baguette...or a Vegetarian.. also a variety of Pizzas..... $4.95.

Get there early, and plan on having a hard time deciding what you want...I was there yesterday at about 2:00 p.m. to meet a friend. When I walked in, the case was fuller than I expected, and I thought..".I can get my bread before I leave". In the next 5 minutes, the place filled up, and the case started to get bare...I did not wait...got my bread and my new best friend...Cream Cheese Danish...and happily took them home to my grateful family.
