The Community Center area in Palo Alto contains some of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, bounded by Embarcadero Road, Middlefield Road, Channing Avenue, and Newell Road. It is named after the Lucie Stern Community Center. The Lucie Stern Community Center is home to the City of Palo Alto Recreation Department and two theaters.
Kid friendly attractions can be found in Community Center, including the Children's Library and the Junior Museum and Zoo. Rinconada Park is home to Palo Alto's municipal swimming pool. The pool offers many programs through the City of Palo Alto Aquatics Program. Because of its close proximity to the attractions and downtown, Community center attracts young families and anyone who enjoys a close knitted community.
Community Center Neighbor’s Association (CCNA) is very active in planning neighborhoods block parties and other events. They also coordinate with the city of Palo Alto to address any neighborhood issues and volunteer activities. The contact for the neighborhood association is listed here.
