For the past six months here in Ontario and surrounding areas, things seem to be picking up. I 'm seeing more and more "standard sales" where there is actually a person selling their home. This was unheard of just last summer. These homes are competitive with the REO's and short sales. This means more inventory. I find it quite refreshing to be able to negotiate with or represent a seller that i can see and talk to, instead of the asset managers or negotiators at the bank who don't seem to care if the buyer gets his or hers first home, or whether we Realtors need to eat or not. We work sometimes for months on end representing buyers or sellers only to have our potential commissions pulled from under us. I'm riding around town and actually seeing it looking brighter here in 2010. Competition is good, especially when we can actually negotiate with people who actually want to sell their home to someone who has a chance to get it.
