This week 's Localism Neighborhood, we feature a fine neighborhood called the "La Rinconada". An attractive neighborhood on the South-East part of Redding.

About the Homes:

* Most homes were built by local Palomar Builders in 2001

* The square footage of these houses vary from 2,500 to 3,700

* It's not unusual to find homes on one-acre lots, 3-car garage with huge RV parking, gated entries and spectacular backyards (most with a pool)

* Some of the exquisite features of houses in La Rinconada are extensive crown molding, gourmet kitchens, stainless-steel appliances with granite counter-tops or beautiful tile.

* In 2001, the average home sold for about $130 a sq.ft. Today, homes are selling for $200 - $240 a sq.ft.

La Rinconada neighbors Western Ranches, Western Oaks, Saratoga and is on the south-end of Shasta View Avenue. Personally, we love the architectural elegance of the homes you see when driving down St. Charles Drive or La Rinconada Drive. The huge, mature trees give you a nostalgic feel as if those homes had been around for decades.
