The beautiful East Sacramento area - Fabulous 40's street.

The streets in East Sacramento numbered from 40-47th are in an area referred to as the Fabulous Forties. It is one of the most desirable areas of Sacramento. Many of the homes were built in the early 1900s, especially in the 20s, 30s, and 40s. Today my sister-in-law and I attended a holiday tour of homes here with 5 amazingly decorated homes. What a beautiful day for it!

The Fabulous 40s of East Sacramento are named for the streets that run from 40th through 49th, between J and M Street. Most of the homes were built in 1920s and 1930s, ranging from Craftsmans to Tudors to Bungalows. The per-square-foot cost in the Fab 40s is much higher than other areas of East Sacramento, but you can find affordable two-bedroom, one-bath homes in the $300,000 range, all the way to multi-million dollar homes.
