I have just reduced the price of Park Place #1305 from $725,000 to $679,000. It is priced to go quickly! Park Place is one of the most sophisticated and elegant condos in the Marina District, with an unmatched location on the corner of Harbor Drive across from Seaport Village and a few blocks from the Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park. Of all the condos/highrises for sale in the Marina District San Diego, this one may be the best priced for its value. Built in 2003, Park Place is one of Developer Bosa's first architectural gems. Yesterday the Port Authority just broke ground on Ruocco Park- a brand new, tranquil urban getaway located a short walk from Park Place. Let's not forget also that Seaport Village will be getting a long-overdue makeover in the coming year. Why, they're even building a "quiet zone" right next to the building so freight train whistle blowing noise will become a thing of the past. Ahh, it's officially Fall, tomorrow is the first day of October and that means one important thing to sports fans- NCAA football, NFL football and Major League baseball playoffs are all on tap this weekend! These are some of a fan's best times as your local school and pro team could be on tv back-to-back. I realize San Diegans that in this beautiful weather we always have it is difficult for me to advocate spending a perfect afternoon in a sports bar or restaurant, but to some it is a priority. While there are several excellent places to go in San Diego County, I wish to simply discuss a few right in my own neighborhood that offer great viewing, a mixed crowd and quality food and drink.
1) Redfield's (located inside the Manchester Grand Hyatt) Harbor Drive. 4-5 star hotel, beautiful inside with multiple tv's and viewing areas. Great, customer service oriented staff, great bar food (try the prime rib sliders and don't miss the awesome Sunday buffet breakfast) and selection of wine and beer. Some locals go regularly but usually the crowd is conventioneers from all over cheering their teams.
2) Fox Sports Grill (located inside the Bayfront Hilton next to the convention center). Another beautiful hotel with indoor/outdoor seating, multiple tv's and Coronado Bay views. Enticing food (the burgers are excellent) and a great staff. The crowd will mirror that of Redfield's- mainly conventioneers.
3)PFC Grill (located inside the Embassy Suites) Pacific Highway and Harbor Drive. A smaller place than the others but since it's located closer to the condos and highrises in the Marina District it attracts more local fans. Good food and great specials, also.

Fannie Mae's Economic and Mortgage Market Analysis Group recently released a statement that will not be received well across the country, in California, San Diego, or in the Marina District San Diego. While the economy has experienced a slight, slight growth in the last couple of years or so, there are signs that it could fall back into a severe recession once again. If and when it does sales of condos, highrises, homes in San Diego will ultimately be affected again. Europe, Asia and the Middle East will be prime movers and shakers in the state of the economy in the next year. Financial turmoil in Greece and other nations in Europe, a surprisingly slow economic growth in China, and the continued unrest over oil issues increasing a barrel's price all mean bad news for us. Unemployment should stay above 9% throughout 2012, another bad sign. The housing market is the leading indicator of the economy many times. When consumers hear these news bits, they fear buying property and look to stay renting, at least in the short term, and despite the record low interest rates- surveys show that 26% of Americans fear losing their jobs, and who can take the chance of making a huge purchase like a home with that fear? Admittedly, if there are consumers who can take advantage of this economy, who have job stability or excess purchasing power, this is the time to take advantage, unfortunately, when others are down. If any of you have read my blogs about San Diego or my neighborhood of residence, the Marina District, you know that I am over-the-top gushy happy about living here and hope that all of you may like to visit or ultimately live here, too. Well, there comes a time in everyone's life when you just need to vent a little bit and make yourself feel better, if you know what I mean. So without further ado, I present to you today's Top "Ten Things That Drive Me Crazy In San Diego": Drumroll please!
10) Tanning salons, seriously? 9) Do we really need 90% of the Downtown intersections without traffic lights to be four-way stops? And if this doesn't change, will you drivers please stop staring at each other and go already! 8) I know you love your hot sauces here, but please don't look at me like I'm an idiot for asking for ketchup and mustard on the table. 7) Oh, and don't laugh at me when I order Cuervo tequilla because I thought it was high-end 6) Okay, so you Downtown drivers may be slow, but I'll take that over the Indy 500 style commute whenever I go north on the 5 around 7 in the morning on a weekday. It's bad enough that cars feel the need to pass on the right, but when motorcyclists start to do at at 90 mph or so, it gets really hairy. 5) Please, please ,no more parkas as you walk down the street in winter here when it drops to 61 degrees 4) Ladies, your multi-color full body tattoos may seem like an "in" thing right now, but someday you may actually find yourself in an interview with an employer who doesn't think so... 3) I can't believe I' have actually lost count of how many dogs over 150 lbs. I've seen being walked Downtown. The MOST square footage one can own Downtown is probably 4,000, and that woulde be a Trump-like penthouse. Give the poor pooches a break- move to East or North County! 2) You have TWO professional sports franchises here. One of them you don't mind paying $100 or more a ticket plus parking and concessions for (Da Chargers), and one you can buy a $10 ticket for and yet no one goes! (Da Pads). Finally....... 1) LEARN HOW TO PARALLEL PARK IN UNDER 20 MINUTES. There, I feel better. You know I love you, San Diego!
