Need something to do tonight?
Why not check out Carnivale on Cedros tonight, Thursday December 2, 2010 from 5 pm until around 9 pm (I've seen different times reported) in the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach. This annual holiday party is fun and very popular with residents and visitors alike.
Carnivale on Cedros is just in time for the holidays. The Cedros Design District in a fun shopping and design area of Solana Beach, 1 block east of the Coast Road/Route 101 on the south side of Lomas Santa Fe.
There are shops of all kinds, plus galleries (I like Susan Street Fine Art Gallery), restaurants (the Wild Note at the famed Belly-Up Tavern is my fave) and other cool venues to explore.
Leaping Lotus is one amazing shopping destination with dozens of vendors - you are sure to find the right gift at a great price.
Take a Shopping Stroll in the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach
Carnivale on Cedros will feature street performers, lots of food, music and more over throughout the evening, providing lots of entertainment and fun, and of course the chance to shop for those perfect gifts for the holiday season.

While showing an out of town client different areas and homes in San Diego, we decided to stop for lunch in Solana Beach. If you haven't been to Solana Beach lately, make sure to visit the Cedros Avenue Design District, located at Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach. It's a cool, modern, and fun street filled with the popular Belly Up Tavern, a couple restaurants, spas, art galleries, antique stores, a pet boutique, and many other great businesses.

There are over 85 shops and businesses worth visiting along Cedros Avenue. Special events include a farmer's market and 3rd Thursday. The farmer's market is held every Sunday from 1pm-5pm at the south end of Cedros. 3rd Thursday is a time to enjoy new exhibits, live music and artist receptions in the evening on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

We got lucky by finding the Wild Note Cafe to eat lunch. We had an amazing honey glazed salmon salad and a delicious shrimp and lobster enchilada. I now have another favorite restaurant. Make a point to visit this cafe when you're in the area.

Folks seeking the best in Solana Beach coffee shops will find Zinc Café in Solana Beach CA to be a charming, comfortable place to hang out in the heart of the Cedros Design District.
READ MORE:
Solana Beach Real Estate - Seaside Community Extraordinaire
Zinc Café is swaddled in plants and with the tree-covered patio looks almost like an English garden.
There are several tables and chairs indoors but the real treat is to enjoy your coffee while taking in the street scene on the brick patio under the trees, and the feel, IMO, is distinctly European.

Zinc Café in Solana Beach offers a wide range of beverages as well as a menu of breakfast and lunch offerings that is mighty impressive for this small place. Personally, having a croissant or scone with jam and coffee in the early morning on the patio watching the Cedros Design District wake up can't be beat.

Zinc Café has 2 other locations, in Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach, both in Orange County.
Zinc Café in Solana Beach is located at 132 S. Cedros, about 1 block south of Lomas Santa Fee and several block from the beaches. 858-793-5436.
Zinc Café is open daily from 7 am until 4 pm. Well worth a visit while out strolling the Cedros Design District or before heading out to the beach for the day.
