There is often a lot of confusion with various boundaries in Los Angeles and particularly in the San Fernando Valley. This next series of blogs will help define the boundaries of various neighborhoods.

Be Prepared to be Scared Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Night

Jane Peters - Los Angeles Real Estate (310-473-6919): Real Estate Agent in Los Angeles, CA

Universal Studios' annual Halloween Horror Night is outdoing itself this year. From now until October 31st be prepared to be afraid, very afraid.

There are 5 new mazes depicting scenes for your favorite scary movies:  A Nightmare on Elm St., Friday 13th, House of 1000 Corpses (haven't heard of that one), Saw, and Vampyre.

You will wander past the woman who drowned her children and is now back looking for souls to replace them. Take the round trip tram to Skull Island where you will meet a 3D King Kong, pass through Jurassic Park in the Dark, escape (hopefully) the Revenge of the Money, and see The Simpsons (not sure what is scary about them).

You will also have a chance to take a tour of the famous backlot after dark and visit some of the frightening sets normally not open to the general public.  This will be part of a 5 hour RIP Experience where you will have your own private guide throughout the evening.

I loved their Survival Guide below:

HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY: What Fear Fears the Most!

Donne Knudsen CalState Realty Services: Loan Officer in Simi Valley, CA

Prepare for a new level of terror at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights where horror legends come to life. Based on the most popular horror movies of all time, Universal Studios has added five new mazes to their night of terror:

  • A Nightmare on Elm Street
  • Friday the 13th
  • Saw: featuring horrific new traps from the film series
  • House of 1000 Corpses in 3D Zombievision
  • Vampyre: Castle of the Undead

Make your way through scare zones and dare to survive the Terror Tram that's been hijacked by serial killer Charles Lee Ray trapped inside the body of the pint-sized Chucky doll.

Hurry and purchase your tickets in advance because if you think you're just going to show up at the gate, pay your $59 and get in - WRONG!!! This event WILL sell out and when it does, tickets will NOT be available at the front gate.

There are only a few dates left so buy your tickets online. Also, if you buy for one of the Killer Deal Nights, you can save $5 off of the regular gate price (discount made at checkout online). There are also discounts for groups of 9 or more. Call Group Sales at (800) 959-9688 option 2.

While its been quite a few years since I have attended this event, I can assure you, IT IS SCARY!!! Definitely NOT for the faint of heart. There is no minimum age limit, however it is recommended for mature audiences only. There is some extremely adult material throughout the event so it is not recommended for children.

The event starts at 7pm (gates open at 6:30pm) and goes on rain or shine. Also, the line to get in is long so get there early (5ish should be early enough). If you don't know where Universal Studios is located, its right off the 101 (Hollywood) Freeway and Universal Studios Blvd or Lankershim Blvd and the address is 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA. Plus, Saturday night at the studio is crowded so traffic and parking will be tough. Once again, go early.
