Vail, Colorado Daily Photo - Moon Over Mountain Star -
While on a recent architectural photo shoot in the Vail Valley's Mountain Star subdivision I was blessed with the rising of this fabulous full moon. Over the years I have been working with a camera I have found few instances when the timing of a moon shot - cloud cover, ambient light, color of the sky, and earth surroundings - have meshed. This was one of those times. So here we have an iconic moon to the East and the lights of the Eagle Valley and Beaver Creek to the South. Which shot do you take? I took 'em both.

Vail, Colorado Daily Photo: A Very Clear, Very Cold Evening: I am always amazed at how very high altitudes, very thin atmosphere, and very cold temperatures combine to produce a surreal effect. This one minute exposure of a spectacular home in Mountain Star overlooking Beaver Creek on a really cold recent evening was a perfect demonstration of this phenomena. Something else amazing:That my trusty Nikon can function at 10 below zero. I know I wasn't functioning too well! It's cold up here this week.
