When searching for a home in the Denver suburbs, school boundaries are sometimes a very important qualifier for the search location. While Colorado is an open enrollment state, the opportunity to enroll children at any public school only exists if there is room. Some schools are at or near capacity, and living within the school's geographic boundaries can sometimes be the only or best way to be certain of enrollment. Additionally, if you do not live within the school boundaries, school bus will not be a transportation option for you.
Buffalo Ridge is a K - 6 school in Castle Pines Village (mailing address Castle Rock) and part of the Douglas County School District. Buffalo Ridge is on the "Conventional" / traditional school calendar. It is one of the few in the area on the conventional calendar.
Buffalo Ridge is located in Castle Pines area of Castle Rock at Shoreham Drive and Monarch Blvd in Castle Pines Village. Students that have Buffalo Ridge as their home school elementary school will feed to Rocky Heights Middle School and Rock Canyon High School.

The City of Castle Pines Village is located in Douglas County, Colorado, about 21 miles south of downtown Denver CO homes. Keene Ranch Subdivision Castle Rock Colorado
Have you ever heard the song from Camelot that went something like "If ever I should leave you, it would never be in 'fill in the season'"??
Well, fall is never a time to consider leaving Keene Ranch Subdivision! The colors in the fall are spectacular!

As I drive through Keene Ranch Subdivision, I find myself always wondering if anyone else ever notices, or if I'm just weird? So this weekend I drove through and snapped a few pictures to upload and see if they look as good on the computer as they do in person.
(Okay, those of you from the east might not agree as I know you have incredible reds and oranges... my husband if from NY and tells me that all the time!

So just to prove my point with the colors we have here, I want to be sure and drop in a picture boasting of the reds that we have as well! By the way, notice the beautiful blue sky in the background. Now that's something you don't always see in NY! :)
Agreed, reds and oranges are breathtaking, but I happen to really like our golds and oranges.

There is about a two to three week time frame that our native ornamental grasses just glow with an orange cast. And the best time is when some have changed and some have not.


Now that Keene Ranch Subdivision is getting more and more developed, we are seeing less of the beautiful native ornamental grasses. What isn't being replaced is being cut down, which saddens me.
But, hey... we'll always have the incredible views to remind us why it's worth the drive from Denver or the Springs!
(Castle Rock Colorado is located about half way between Denver and Colorado Springs on I-25. Whether heading north to Denver or south to the Springs, it's about a 30 minute scenic drive either way.)

Luxury Homes for sale in Castle Pines Village
172 Homes are for sale in Castle Pines Village, Colorado as of Nov 3rd, 2009. The listing prices range from $420,000 to $6,800,000. 65% of the homes for sale have been on the market for more than 6 months. 38% more than a year. 13 new listings came on the market in October in Castle Pines Village.
The number of houses on the market has increased since July and home sales have not picked up - it's pretty slow going. Why? Most of the homes for sale in Castle Pines Village are luxury homes with price tags of over one million dollars. Luxury home sales in Denver area in general have significantly slowed down since Nov 2008 and Castle Rock is feeling it too.
