We will be closing tomorrow on a home in Tthe Meadows Castle Rock (3116 W Indian Summer Ln). We actually received an offer and had this listing under contract in 3 days.

A half million dollar home for $100.00 and a great cause. The deadline is looming for those that wish to purchase a raffle ticket to own a beautiful home, valued at over $500K in Castle Rock, CO. Benenficiaries of this project will be St. Jude and all of the children thatare treated at this incredible hospital. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is selling raffle tickets for $100.00 and all proceeds go directly to benefit St. Judes childrens research Hospital for treatment of childhood cancer. The entire St. Judes Hospital runs exclusively on donations and Bob Woodley, owner of Joyce homes decided to step up to the table and design, build and giveaway a home for the purposes of raising money for this great cause.
Bob Woodley and Joyce homes are well known in and around Denver, they has been building custom homes for over 30 years here and have a very highly respected reputation. Other sponsors of the Dream Home giveaway, include, The Meadows, a fantastic community just 15 minutes south of The Denver Tech Center and home of the St. Jude Dream Home. The community includes a water park and recreation center, miles of trails, a golf course, shopping and many more amenities.
Other prizes that will be given away - Suzuki, is giving away a Suzuki Kizashi SE, there will be $1000's of dollars in gift certificates from Target, KMart, The Outlets at Castle Rock, a Napolean Gas Grill. Some other sponsors that donated many items to the cause are the Fireplace Warehouse, Furniture Row, and ESA, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a non-profit that donates time and money to projects jsut like this one. I am sure I have missed a few names and sponsors, please feel free to add to this post, I would love to see them sell out of tickets.
The St.Judes Childrens Research Hospital was founded by the late Danny Thomas, he wanted to ensure a place that kids could go and get the best treatment possible without having to worry the families about the cost of the treatment, over the years they have seen the recovery go from a very low 17-18% survival rate to well over 90%.

Residential Detached Single Family Homes ~ Dec 2009
11 Homes sold in The Meadows subdivision in Castle Rock in December. Sold prices ranged from $215,000 to $425,900. Price per square foot ranged from $113 to $170 per square foot. Five of the houses sold for under $120 per square foot. Three of the sold houses were bank owned and five were builder owned (new build).

Castle Rock is filled with charm from the historic buildings or the warm and friendly small town atmosphere. One of my very favorites is an historic restaurant right in the heart of downtown Castle Rock. The Castle Cafe is know for their family style portions and firendly staff but most of their fame comes from their fried chicken. It would be hard to find better fried chicken but be prepared to wait, the 1/2 lb chicken dinner could take as long as 30 minutes as every piece is cooked to order. If you find your self in Castle Rock the Castle Cafe is a must stop!

The Castle Hotel and Bar was the gathering place for quarry workers, ranchers and travelers during the 1890's. In those days, the bar was one of the wildest in the area. Although reports of shootouts were not confirmed, brawls were so common that Douglas County was forced to hire an extra deputy to patrol on paydays. The Deputy was also responsible for restraining inebriated cowboys from riding their horses through the bar.
Around 1910, The Castle Hotel and Cafe became the stopover for travelers between Denver and Colorado Springs. A dance hall was built over the bar and served as a community center during the roaring 20's, depressing 30's and early 40's. Throughout the years, The Castle Cafe and Lounge has remained the geographical and social heart of the Castle Rock area.
