The Lantern Hill neighborhood in Highlands Ranch is a very nice neighborhood that is built with Joyce homes.  When the neighborhood was first being built, it was highly talked about as it was fairly different than many of the other Highlands Ranch neighborhoods with some unique floor plans.

Located at the southern end of Highlands Ranch with some lots having open space, its a great location close to schools, shopping, recreation centers, parks and more.

The Lantern Hill neighborhood is a part of the Douglas County School District and feeds into Mountain Vista High School with Summit View Elementary & Mountain Ridge Middle School as its feeder schools.

Lantern Hill Highlands Ranch Homes

Lantern Hill in Highlands Ranch is a smaller community of just over 200 single family homes. Lantern Hill is almost completely surrounded by another larger neighborhood Kentley Hills. The neighborhoods are separated by a greenbelt area with trails. Majority of the homes were built in 1999, 2000 and 2001. The builder of the neighborhood is Joyce Homes. Many of these houses back to the greenbelt areas and have mountain and/or city views.

Lantern Hill is very conveniently located to practically most things in Highlands Ranch and its vicinity. Shopping, dining and recreation centers are within a few minutes drive. The closest recreation center is Southridge with is approximately 2 miles away.

Since Lantern Hill is a smaller community fewer homes are sold, compared to homes sales in some larger neighborhoods. In 2008, 11 houses sold and this year seven houses have sold so far. The average sold price is approx. $415,000, and the prices range from $350,000 up to $600,000. Currently the homes for sale are listed from $450,000 to $600,000. The average home in Lantern Hill has 4-5 bedrooms, 3-4 bathrooms and about 2800 square feet (the sq ft does not count finished basements).

Schools
Lantern Hills students are part of the Douglas County school District. The current elementary school is Summit View, Middle School is Mountain Ridge and High School is Mountain Vista. All of the schools are located close by. Occasionally school assignments change so if a particular school is important to you it's a good idea to check with the school district.

Lantern Hill residents belong to Highlands Ranch Community Association (Highlands Ranch Home Owner's association). This grants the residents access to all of the four Highlands Ranch recreation centers and exclusive use of the Highlands Ranch trails system.

Lantern Hill is a neighborhood that is located in Highlands Ranch, CO - Douglas County. The neighborhood is just east of Summit View Parkway and Wildcat Reserve Parkway. The homes in Lantern Hill were built by Joyce Homes. The homes currently range in price from $360,000's to the low $600,000's. Some of the Joyce models have stunning architecture that is very different from many of the other neighborhoods in Highlands Ranch.

Lantern Hill is a part of the covenant community of Highlands Ranch, governed by the Highlands Ranch Community Association.

Quite a few of the homes in Lantern Hill back to open space and some offer wonderful views of the mountains or have downtown city views.

The schools that feed from the Lantern Hill neighborhood are:

• Summit View Elementary
• Mountain Ridge Middle School
• Mountain Vista High School

Recreation opportunities are nearly endless throughout Highlands Ranch in general, but Lantern Hill does have a great location in Highlands Ranch, providing convenient recreation opportunities very close by. Biking and running trails are plentiful, as the trail system of Highlands Ranch runs throughout the town with easy access from Lantern Hill. The recreation centers in Highlands Ranch are beautiful and have something for everyone. The closest to Lantern Hill would be the Southridge Recreation Center with the Eastridge Recreation Center very close as well. But because of its convenient location, the other 2 (Northridge and Westridge) are not far at all either.

There are great parks in Highlands Ranch as well, and many are accessible from Lantern Hill.

Shopping is also plentiful near Lantern Hill. There are numerous restaurants and shopping in the nearby Southridge shopping area - including a grocery store and even more shopping very close by in Eastridge with more grocery stores (including 2 "natural" grocery stores), restaurants, banks, etc. It is only about 10 - 15 minutes to the nearby Park Meadows Mall.

Commuting from Lantern Hill is very convenient. Various park and ride opportunities exist throughout Highlands Ranch and it would also be possible to commute downtown via Light Rail at either the Lincoln Station or Mineral station. Each station would be about a 10 minute drive form Lantern Hill.

The Lantern Hill nighborhood is approximately a 40- 45 minute commute from Denver International Airport.
