If you are looking for a place where you can wave hello to your neighbors and walk to the neighborhood store in Highlands Ranch, then we have found the place for you: Town Center at Highlands Ranch. This 100 acre mixed development is essentially a "walking" village.

There is a RTD adjacent that can take you to downtown in about 20 minutes. .  Park Meadows Shopping Mall, home to 160 retail shops and restaurants and the Vistas of Park Meadows, outdoor shopping and street park which are  home currently to 11 retail shops is only  about 6 miles. (IKEA announced in 2008 that they were planning on building near this mall.)  Downtown Denver is about 20 miles away. The Denver International Airport is 39 miles.  And the mountains?  Probably around 20 to 30 minutes.

Highlands Ranch Real Estate & Living - New Businesses Coming to Town Center

Steve Scheer - Denver Real Estate - Highlands Ranch Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Denver, CO

highlands ranch colorado town centerBy now you have seen it, there are some new businesses that are coming to Town Center in Highlands Ranch at the corner of Lucent and Highlands Ranch Parkway.  From what I can tell - here's what we've got.

Indulge Wine Bar - I was contacted back in April by one of the owners letting me know that Indulge Wine Bar was coming.  While I still am uncertain of the opening date, the web site says late 2008. I remember hearing about an outdoor patio and tapas, that will be nice.

Chase Bank - Lots of banks in town, but there will be another here.

Corner Bakery Cafe - This looks good too - Again I don't know much about this although I have eaten at the one downtown at the Denver Pavilions on the 16th street mall.  As I recall, I had a great sandwich.

If you are involved in one of these new businesses coming to Highlands Ranch Town Center, feel free to comment on opening date!

Living in Highlands Ranch - Recycle Computers & Electronics in Highlands Ranch Town Center

Steve Scheer - Denver Real Estate - Highlands Ranch Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Denver, CO

Its the time of year to recycle your electronic and computers. The HRCA routinely organizes this event and it couldn't be coming at a better time for recycleme. We did have one CPU go "Poof" this year - so it is a great opportunity to get rid of it and out of my house - in proper & safe way.

The event is free, however this time around optional donations that are suggested at $20 will be taken for the Highlands Ranch Community Scholarship Fund or the Highlands Ranch Cultural Association. There is a nominal fee of $15 to recycle small televisions and $30 for large ones.

The computers and Electronic Recycle Event will take place in Highlands Ranch Town Center (Highlands Ranch Pkway & Dorchester) on August 23rd from 9am - 3pm. Its really quite a sight to see everything that is collected. I have now brought items over to this event 2 different times, and it has always been well organized and speedy. Round up your recyclables now and be ready - you'll be glad you did.

Some of the items that can be recycled at the event are: Computers, Lap Tops, Fa Machines, Printers, Monitors, Computer Mice, Radios, Phones, PDA's, Cell Phones, televisions (see cost for T.V.s above) and more. For a complete list, click here. More information can also be found at www.executiverecycle.com/.

The HRCA has many events like this for the community throughout the year. You can always check the HRCA website for ongoing events and they even have email alerts available now as well.

Highlands Ranch Real Estate - Highlands Ranch Town Center

Steve Scheer - Denver Real Estate - Highlands Ranch Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Denver, CO

Highlands Ranch town centerThe Highlands Ranch Town Center is a "newer" area in Highlands Ranch and is centered around a unique shopping area for Highlands Ranch and community space. There are a variety of shops & restaurants in Town Center and some are really great. Although it is nearing a completion look, there is still even more building to be done at Town Center.

There is a lot of speculation of what is still to come and what will fill the few vacant spots that are already completed. But there are already so many great places in Town Center - One of my favorites is the Tattered Cover- an independent bookstore that is great for shopping, browsing or enjoying a cup of coffee. I have long been a patron of the Denver location of Tattered Cover, so it was very nice when they opened up shop here in Highlands Ranch.

There are also great places to eat - three of my favorite restaurants in Highlands Ranch are also in Town Center - Landsdowne Arms, the Old Blinking Light and The Egg & I (the Frittatas are so good!) There is also a Qdoba and a Fatburger, Cold Stone Creamery and Jamba Juice for other food fare.

Now that my son is into music, he prefers to have his hair cut at the Town Center Floyd's Barbershop. There are also numerous craft-type activity stores, including the brand new Beadniks, pottery painting at Arts on Fire and a knitting store called String. There are larger stores too, including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Home Depot and Office Max. I also just received word that my childrens' pediatric dentist will be moving to Highlands Ranch Town Center in January, so that certainly will be convenient.

There is a large green area that is a great location for the Highlands Ranch Farmer's Market from the spring through October. It is also a fantastic location that brings the community together for fantastic events such as the recent Oktoberfest, the Fourth of July Celebration, and much more. In early December, the tree in the center in lit and the holiday festivities begin right here.

Adjacent to Town Center is the Highlands Ranch Library and Civic Green Park. The park has been the host to some great events as well including the night highlands ranch farmers markettime film series that just wrapped up last month. We have also enjoyed many kids activities in the park and some concerts as well. Conveniently located next to Town Center as well, is a Denver RTD park n ride station - allowing convenient transportation in and out of Highlands Ranch to downtown Denver and other parts of the Metro area.

Immediately surrounding Highlands Ranch Town Center are beautiful condos called the Brownstones and Cornerstones at Town Center. Some of these Highlands Ranch town homes are still under construction but there are resale homes available as well. And if you are looking for Highlands Ranch single family homes that are close to town center, several neighborhoods are within walking distance, including Westridge Knolls, Westridge Glen, and more.

If you would like further information about the homes available near Town Center, or any other Highlands Ranch real estate, it would be my pleasure to assist you.
