Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree Homes By School Boundary | Eagle Ridge Elementary School

Steve Scheer - Highlands Ranch Real Estate - Denver Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Highlands Ranch, CO

When searching for a home in the Denver suburbs, school boundaries are sometimes a very important qualifier for the search location. While Colorado is an open enrollment state, the opportunity to enroll children at any public school only exists if there is room. Some schools are at or near capacity, and living within the school's geographic boundaries can sometimes be the only or best way to be certain of enrollment. Additionally, if you do not live within the school boundaries, school bus will not be a transportation option for you.

Eagle Ridge Elementary is a K - 6 school in Highlands Ranch, also serving Lone Tree and a very small part of western Parker and is a part of the Douglas County School District. Eagle Ridge is on the modified school calendar, which is similar to a traditional school calendar.

Eagle Ridge Elementary is located in Highlands Ranch's Eastridge area between Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree. The boundaries include homes in parts of Highlands Ranch's Eastridge neighborhood, Lone Tree's Heritage Estates, Vistas, Taos, RidgeGate, Parker's Meridian neighborhood. Denver Relocation Info: And The Wild Winds Blow

Denver Relocation Info: And The Wild Winds BlowHighlands Ranch CO mountain view

There are 2 things I have found over the years about Denver winters that are surprising to my Denver relocation clients.

#1) That we aren't always buried in cold & snow from November through March. We covered that a bit lately, so I won't really cover that again today.

#2) The second being the wind. When we get our warmer temps and the mountains are getting a good deal of snow, it can tend to be very windy here on the front range. I am not meteorologist by any means so I won't bore you with the science of it - but it is part of what keeps us dry and relatively warm.

Is it windy every day in the winter? No. But there can be some that are a bit more windy than others and perhaps beyond comfort of wanting to hang outside all day. Today isn't too bad, right now anyway, but it seems like it is picking up and I hear some stronger gusts now and then.

Better than another foot of snow though.

I actually did not take this photo today, but a day like today when it was very nice and warm on a winter day in Highlands Ranch, but windy - just over 3 years ago in February of 2008.

Weather Makes Life Interesting

Tree of StormThe past few weeks it seems the country has been having extreme weather. Freezing temps in Scottsdale alarm and entertain residents as their fountains turn to ice.

At the Super Bowl in Texas they are dealing with cold unlike they have seen in recent years.

Chicago officials had to rescue people on Lake Shore Drive using snowmobiles!

Finally Denver got a taste of winter as our temps dropped well below freezing for a few nights in a row. Now the snow flakes are falling leaving the beauty of innocent snow covering the land.

All the while the conversation on Twitter, Facebook and on the street, people are talking. People who might otherwise have nothing to say to one another, are being friendly having discourse on you guessed it, the weather!

(About the Photo: Taken this week at the end of day when the temps were below freezing. Location on the grounds of the Historic Schweiger Ranch in Lone Tree, Colorado)
