It may not be a great snow year in Steamboat but sometimes that is a chance to appreciate a place for more that it's marquee attraction. The snow is better than most of the state but not quite what we are used to after several epic years that have made our powder dreams a reality.
We along with quite a few other locals have been mountain biking up Emerald Mountain this winter not just on the roads which is often possible but on some of our best single track. If you wonder how we are on our normal mountain bikes with just a bit of air taken out of the tires. The snow have been friendly with a great tacky quality to it and we have had a blast.
The ride up is great practice since you do need to stay on the narrow trail, the exercise feels good and the downhills on MGM, Mollys, Lupine and others are downright fun. Living in Steamboat is great even when the snow isn't because there is always something fun and off the beaten path so to speak that you can find to do. If you would like to talk about the secrets that make it great to live here or see if Life in Steamboat might be a fit for you just give me a call. 970-879-0879. I'll listen to your questions then give you honest answers so you can make a great decision for you.

Tubing the Beautiful Yampa River in Steamboat
If you happen to be passing through Steamboat on a particularly warm summer day, do not miss an opportunity to dip into the Yampa River for a tubing session. Flowing South to North, the Yampa River parallels US Hwy 40 and Yampa Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs. The river eventually joins the Green River just a few miles East of the Utah boarder and is the only major tributary of the Colorado that is still flowing freely and unhindered by dams.
Various outfitters both in and around Steamboat can set you up for a day of high adventure and a little relaxation on the Yampa. Their services include tube rentals, extensive and thorough information that is vital to your float as well as a shuttle service. Tubing the Yampa is a fun way to burn a few hours in Steamboat Springs as long as you come prepared. Make sure you wear clothes that dry quickly: bathing suits, shorts, and some sort of footwear suitable for water.
Inner tubes dot the Yampa River nearly all summer, and if you have never jumped in to try tubing, now is your chance. Take your family on a wet & wild adventure as you make your way down the beautiful Yampa Valley River here in Steamboat. My local favorite to rent inner tubes here in Steamboat is the Bucking Rainbow Outfitters. To contact them you can give them a call at 970.879.8747. They are located on 735 Yampa Street in Downtown Steamboat Springs.

There are several new projects including: The Olympian, The Victoria, Alpenglow, Howelsen Place. There are even a few resales on some older properties that might work nicely. Prices range from $320k to $1.9million for a penthouse. Email me for more details on any of these opportunities angela@yoursteamboathome.com
