The 26th Annual Tri-County Baseball School will be held 9am-noon, from Monday July 7 through Friday July 11 at the Colchester recreational Complex off Old Hebron Rd. Directed by Bacon Academy baseball coach Dave Shea and former pro player John Shea, who specializes in pitches instruction. Staff and lecturers also includes Roger Bidwell (UConn Avery Point), Jim Penders (East Catholic High School), Bill Holowaty (Eastern CT State University) and Mike Turgeon (former pro-player). Cost is $115, non refundable deposit of $50 is required with each application. Those ages 6-14 can apply. For more information, call Dave Shea at 537-5782.

The Abundant Life of the Assemblies of God, 85 Skinner Rd, Colchester, CT, is having a Ice Cream Social, Sat June 21, from 4-6pm, to raise money for the church trip to Mozambique in August. Colchester Parks and Recreation invites families to grab a tent, sleeping bag, a flashlight and to come join them for a family Cook Out at the Ruby Cohen Woodland on Saturday June 21 at 6pm. he event will include a cookout, marshmallow roast, night hike and other family activities. Cost is $8 per person. Colchester Parks and Recreation is also encouraging people to come August 16 for its second Family Camp Out. Cragin Memorial Library, 8 Linwood Ave, Colchester, will sponsor a free program entitled "Why Homeopathy?" with Dr. Jose Mullen of Colchester on Monday, June 2 at 7pm in the library. Homeopathy, which has been used for over 200years, is a holistic system of treatment. Mullen graduated from medical school at the University of Buenos Aires and practiced general medicine until 1982 when he began practicing classical homeopathy. He is a member of the Homeopathic Medical Association Connecticut. No registration is required.
