Cragin Memorial Library, 8 Linwood Ave, Colchester, will sponsor a free program entitled "Why Homeopathy?" with Dr. Jose Mullen of Colchester on Monday, June 2 at 7pm in the library. Homeopathy, which has been used for over 200years, is a holistic system of treatment. Mullen graduated from medical school at the University of Buenos Aires and practiced general medicine until 1982 when he began practicing classical homeopathy. He is a member of the Homeopathic Medical Association Connecticut. No registration is required. The Congregational Church of Salem will hold it's annual Tag, Rummage and Bake sale on Saturday, June 7 from 8:30am to 2pm on the Salem Town Green, Route 85, Salem. The sale will take place rain or shine and features our usual bargain clothing sale in the upstairs of the Christian Education building, and numerous large and small tag items in the lower level. Furniture and large items will be presented outside on the lawn. A bake sale will also be held outside on the church grounds.

The Friends of Cragin Memorial Library are offering postcards of historic sites ion Colchester for sale in the library, 8 Linwood Ave, Colchester, CT. Thanks to a gift from the collection of Joann Ridell, eight scenes from around Colchester, including the Town Green, Mintz's Farm, the original Bacon Academy and the Westchester Station, have been remade into color and sepia style postcards, available for $1 each. Proceeds from this fund raiser go directly towards library materials and programs. Library service hours are Monday through Thursday, 10am-9pm: and Friday and Saturday, 10am-4pm.

St. Andrew Church in Colchester will present its 10th Annual "Stars On Stage" Talent Show Saturday May 31 at 7pm in the St. Andrew Parish Hall, 128 Norwich Ave, Colchester, CT. Doors open at 6:30pm. This annual talent show features singers, instrumentalists, comedy, dance and a host of unusual acts. Tickets are $8 in advance ($10 at the door) and half of teh proceeds will go to help alleviate hunger in Haiti, through the work of the Haitian Health Foundation. A Beginner's Orchestra is looking for musicians who can read and play from sheet music at a beginning level-all instruments are needed. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm at a private residence in Colchester and will run through June 3. Cost is $12 to cover cost for rental of music.
