KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FREE THROW CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST

The Knights of Columbus sponsors this event annually where thousands of boys and girls from the ages 10 to 14 participate based on the youth's age as of January 1, 2009. The 2007 to 2008 Knights of Columbus International Free throw Championship has once again shown itself to be a great success, with well over 200,000 participates throughout the Order. Competitions at the local, district, regional and state, levels will be held all over the country over the next few months.

The Knights of Columbus DeSoto Council #6 in Cromwell, CT announced the date for this year's local free throw competition. The first round of the event will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at the Town Hall Recreation Center Gym on 41 West Street in Cromwell. Champion plaques will be awarded to each winner in recognition of their achievement.

Registration is free and forms may be picked up at the Cromwell Recreation Department or by calling Dave Crandall at 860-613-0799.
