FACT: The average cat can jump five times as high as its tall is long. I thought that was an amazing fact!

It rings true to me. I have 7 cats, one with a particularly long tail and she is a fabulous jumper!

A common activity among avid fishermen in Connecticut is ice fishing. When our lakes, ponds, and streams freeze up the fishing diehards take to the ice with their power augers, and fishing poles.

The ice on a pond or small lake can get pretty thick once the temperatures drop, and the best way to cut through it is with a gas powered auger. Once a hole has been drilled these hardy souls will some times sit there for hours to catch what they hope to be that evenings dinner.

I first drove by this young boy and his father about two hours before I returned with my camera to take their picture. Who knows how long they were sitting out there, but the young boy seemed content to play around on the ice, and his father was sitting in the same spot, and in the same position both times I drove by them.

Across this small lake or very large pond, called Dooley Pond in Middletown, Connecticut, also stood a group of men all sitting by their own hole. I tried to take a picture of them as well but they were to far away, and the sun was shining in my direction, making it very tough to get a good picture.

While ice fishing is not for me, even though I enjoy fishing, there are many that actually look forward to sitting out there on the ice every year. Who knows maybe I will try this someday, but for now I am content with just watching someone else do it, and happy that they are having a cold, but good time.

So what should I do in 2010 in order to position myself in the best place? By getting yourself out of credit card debt it allows you to escape the abusive treatment by lenders. Remember, things like interest rate and minimum payment increases only matter if you carry a balance. Getting out of and staying out of credit card debt puts you in a very enviable position. This is old advice that has taken on a new level of importance.

A second byproduct of getting out of credit card debt is the significant benefit to your credit scores. "Debt" makes up a whopping 30% of the points in your FICO® scores, which places it a close second behind whether or not you have negative information on your credit reports. And as many people have learned the hard way, the minimum score requirements to not only qualify but also qualify at the best interest rates have become more difficult to satisfy.

This means higher FICO scores equals approvals where in the past a higher FICO score meant an approval with the best rates.

A blonde decides to learn and try horse back riding unassisted without prior experience or lessons. She mounts the horse with great effort, and the tall, shiny horse springs into motion.


It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slip from the saddle. Out of sheer terror, she grabs for the horse's mane but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider.


Finally, giving up her frail grip, she leaps away from the horse to try and throw herself to safety.


Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup. She is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground again and again. As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness or even death when Frank, the Wal-Mart manager runs out to shut the horse off.
