Milford CT now has a Downtown Farmers' Market! Established in 2008 with the support of the Downtown Milford Business Association. This farmers market will be THE place to go on a Saturday morning - I'll be there for sure!

Located in beautiful downtown Milford, in the parking lot on the corner of Darina Place and River Street.
Fresh vegetables of all kinds including:
Corn and veggies from Beckett Farm;
Sunflower Farm with soaps made with their farm grown herbs and farm made herbal tinctures and decoctions, plants, perennials and more; (I have several plants from them and have bought their soap as well - all great products)
Two Guys from Woodbridge with organic greens, microgreens, sprouts, their renound lettuce bouquets and more; (I'm looking forward to seeing this...)
Vaiuso Farm, fresh produce of every kind; (I'm planning on freezing and canning this year - and of course you must start with the best quality produce at it's peak for quality canning and freezing.
Stonewall Apiary, with honey, creamed honey, comb honey, beeswax candles;
Beltane Farm, with their award winning artisan goat cheese;
Rose's Berry Farm with strawberries, blueberries, plants, flowers, their own jams, made-from-scratch berry pies - oh yumm;
local SHELLFISH!
When and Where;
58 River Street
Milford, CT 06460
(July-October)
Every Saturday starting July 5 - October 18, at 58 River Street (corner of Darina and River) from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

"Walk a mile in my shoes" took on a special meaning this weekend in Milford, CT. where over 250 men and boys stepped outside their comfort zone and fashion boundaries to participate in Milford's second annual "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" march to bring attention to violence against women. This avant-garde group bravely (and painfully) walked around the Milford Green wearing everything from stilettos to fuzzy slippers. Some even took it a step further and donned female attire to complete their ensemble.
This is a national event designed to bring attention and raise money for various organizations who offer assistance to women who are victims of violence. Last year in Milford, this event raised over $15,000 to help run the Milford Rape Crisis Center according to Peggy Pisano, the center's executive director and an organizer for this event. This Center services Milford, Orange, West Haven as well as several other local towns and handled over 400 cases last year.
Participants joined together from all ages and backgrounds including our distinguished Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. So if you were unable to attend this event, please consider sending a donation to The Rape Crisis Center of Milford, 70 West River Street, Milford, CT 06460. Your contribution could be the catalyst to change some women's life for the better.
If your organization has an upcoming event and you would like to get the word out, contact me at donna@CTHomeConsultant.com and I will add it to my blog.
