New Haven Connecticut is full of many great parks and Edgewood Park is one of the great treasures in the City of New Haven.
Located in the neighborhood of Westville, it is one park that I had not had an opportunity to visit.
Yesterday while driving to Westville down Chapel Street which borders one side of Edgewood Park there was a group of children standing along one of the ponds found inside the park. They were watching a large family of geese and ducks swimming with their baby ducklings and goslings.
After about a half hour of taking in this peaceful and serene setting I ventured further through the trails of the park.
There was a wonderful playground area and many picnic and park benches where you can can sit and watch your children play or just relax with a good book under the shade of one of the hundreds of trees you'll find throughout the park.
Just a few of the amenities you'll find in the park are a dog run which is a fenced in area where your dog can run and play without being leashed, trails, ponds for canoeing and fishing (license required), an open and enclosed playground area, skateboarding and in-line skating park and a sundial sprinkler.

For the sports enthusiasts there are seven hard-surfaced courts, softball, baseball, soccer fields and a basketball court. Other activities include walking, jogging, bicycling and cross-country skiing.
Edgewood Park is a 120+ acres and provides recreation in a tranquil setting and has something for every age group and lifestyle including your pets.

I hope you'll enjoy it and if you would like to know more about relocating to New Haven Connecticut please call or email me for more information about the area.
