Pequot Ave, New London CT, 06320.
As you pass the gates of the almost new 755,000 s.f. former Pfizer building to your left you get a glimpse of the Thames River. Drive a bit further and you notice that all of the homes to your left are waterfront. Home owners are in the yards preparing for the summer months that are quick to return. You smell the salt air and it brings you to a place you remember as a child. This area is alive with the activities of a sea faring town and a playground for those who reside here. Off in the distance you hear the engines of the Block Island Ferry and see the passengers preparing for a day of fun and sun. As the Ferry passes you spot another boat with an American Flag flying high with 5 Sailors on the deck. This is no ordinary boat but a submarine that is either returning from a sea trial or a mission that took them around the world. Driving further up Pequot Ave you smell something different yet familiar. The lines are backed way up at Fred's Shanty, where the locals are waiting for Jumbo Lobster Salad Rolls, Fresh whole belly lobsters, or maybe fresh Stonington Sea Scallops.

You then notice that the sidewalks to your right are littered with College Students with backpacks on their way to class at Mitchell College. To your left the Long Island sound opens up and Fishers Island becomes visible. People are sailing, swimming, power boating, and jet Skiing. The homes are becoming more distinct and the architecture is stunning. You have stumbled upon one of New London's Gems. Your original plans for the day have been delightfully sidetracked as you pull into the Light House Inn Resort to book your four star overnight accommodations.
