Fixing a bad credit score is becoming increasingly important today. Getting any type of credit is getting harder and interest rates are becoming increasingly punitive for those with bad credit.

The Basics Of Your Credit Score
Everyone will calculate your credit score slightly differently, but the basics are the same - you need to pay attention to the following five factors:

  • The history of your credit payments
  • The amounts your owe on lines of credit
  • How long you have had credit accounts
  • How much new credit you have and have applied for
  • Which types of credit you have
  • Limiting the number of credit inquiries

First Steps To Repairing Credit

The very first thing to do is get a copy of your credit report. With that information you will be able to tell where you stand. A significant proportion of credit reports contain errors. There may also be negative entries that you can get removed - and you want to make sure that all the positive things are being reported.

Choosing a Credit Repair Company

Take a look at your credit report - are there positive things on it? How many negative things are on it that need removing? How many debts that you are still paying are on your report.

Essentially if your credit report looks fairly simple and you have the time and patience then you may attempt to repair it on your own. I often compare this with the fact that you can also build your own house but not many people choose to do so. Sure you can achieve a modicum of success by doing it yourself, but just like you choose to hire a builder so you have a rock solid house built, so to do most people pay a small fee to have their credit professionally restored!

    THE BACK PORCH

142 FERRY ROAD, OLD SAYBROOK CONNECTICUT

Last evening I ventured to the coast for a change of scenery and a seafood dinner. I had heard about The Back Porch, but never had the chance to go... until last night.

valerie osterhoudtI dined outside overlooking the marina.

The attire was casual, and the atmosphere was relaxing. How can you go wrong over looking the Connecticut River?

The appetizer of "Lobster Bon Bons" was delicious. I started to laugh when I ate these, because now I can say I sat around and ate bon-bons all night :) The French Martini that accompanied these went down real well too.

For the entree I had Seared Georges Bank Scallops With Braised Littlenecks, Sweet Corn and Chorizo Broth, which I would recommend highly. The combination of flavors in this dish was phenomenal.

The General Manager Mike McMahon, came around frequently to make sure everyone was satisfied, and my waiter Ed had me in stitches.. great sense of humor.

When you are in Connecticut and are in the Old Saybrook area, I would recommend you checking out this restaurant.. you won't be disappointed.

Have any of you ever been here? I'd like to hear what you thought of this restaurant.
