Some Mortgage Relief for Connecticut Home Owners is Coming

There may be some relief for home-owners in Connecticut that were victims of the robo-signing scandal. A $25 Billion dollar settlement with the 5 largest mortgaging servicing banks will see almost $200 million dollars find its way into Connecticut.

The 5 banks identified in this settlement are Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Ally Bank formerly GMAC and JPMorgan Chase.

Of importance in this settlement is the reality that banks should be easier to deal and communicate with for borrowers. The frustrations of getting passed along form one bank employee to another with the

The settlement has the potential to help many Connecticut home owners who have mortgages with these banks to recover and get bank from the potential of foreclosure. It could also result in changes to mortgages including reductions in loan principal. The servicers have three years to meet the terms of the settlement.

There are an additional 9 loan servicers under scrutiny, which could bring relief for other borrowers.

As part of the settlement, banks are required to reach out to their borrowers, however, the contact numbers for these banks are as follows, for those people who do not want to wait:

Bank of America: 877-488-7814

An important part of a Super Bowl is the food and this should be no exception. The list is a compilation of facts based on previous years of Super Sundays.

Take some inspiration from the following game day statistics to either follow the trends or to take the food path less traveled with healthy and gourmet game day snacks.

Groundhog Day Feb 2 2012 Six More Weeks of Winter!

Ed Silva CDPE, GRI, ABR, Real Estate Agent: Real Estate Agent in Waterbury, CT

Groundhog Day, Feb 2, 2012, Six More Weeks of Winter

Today is Groundhog Day, the annual right of early spring when a known member of the rodent family, known as either Punxsutawney Phil, or Staten Island Chuck, or Sir Walter Wally, or General Beauregard Lee or Warton Willie and a host of others.

Punxsutawney Phil emerged to see his shadow before chilly revelers, meaning winter will last another six weeks. In other less attended areas, some of Phil’s cousins did not see their shadows.

Phil may have been a little confused by the shadows created by all of the lights for those cameras Bill Murray’s crew had set up.

German tradition holds that if a hibernating animal sees its shadow on Feb. 2 - the Christian holiday of Candlemas - winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says spring will come early.

The Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club annually announces Phil's forecast at dawn on Gobbler's Knob, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Phil's announcement came before hundreds of onlookers who huddled as temperatures hovered in the mid 30’s, which is far warmer than normal.

We’ve had an extremely mild winter so far, and just a couple of days ago set record highs with temps in the low 60’s. Our snowfall this year is only 60 inches behind the snowfall we had for 6 weeks of last winter.

.

The Groundhog Club says since 1887 Phil has predicted more winter weather by seeing his shadow nearly 100 times, but there are no records for nine years. Of note, Bill Murray was nowhere to be seen today, must have overslept.
