While the average sale is consistantly 3 bedrooms and close to 1,800 square feet. The biggerst changes were the days on market (20% longer), and List/Sales Price (10% drop)
Considering all the horror stories in the media today, 10% ISN'T that bad, right? I think all the signs are pointing to a strong 2009, we just have to keep our fingers crossed.

On January 27, from 9 a.m.to 12 noon and on January 28,from 1 to 3 p.m., Algonquin School will hold kindergarten registration. Registration is open to those children who will turn five by January 1, 2010 and are residents of Prospect. At this time you will register your child and pick up a packet of
forms that should be filled out and returned during Kindergarten Screening. Proof of residency is required. The following information must be provided prior to the start of school: Mortgage statement or copy of deed showing ownership of property where child resides, or copy of signed lease or rental agreement for the property where child lives, or notarized statement from the owner of the property where the child is residing, listing all of the
family members who are residing on the property. Also, a copy of a current utility bill from CL&P or Yankee Gas indicating the family has an account for the address where the child is residing, or if the landlord is supplying utilities, a notarized copy of the lease or rental agreement indicating that
the utilities are supplied by the landlord; a copy of a valid CT Driver's License for either parent indicating the address where the child is residing. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 758-4408.

Below are the October 2008 sold homes for Prospect. The number of sales is almost identical to the year prior. from a year ago you can see people are still spending roughly the same amount ($289,900-$299,900) however, their dollar is going a lot further with the homes. The average Sold price a square foot went from $185/sq foot in October 2007 to $160/sqft in October 2008. This is a 14% slide.

Prospect resident Kim Wadhams had a heart transplant at Yale-New Haven hospital on October 5th. This just goes to show you why it is so important to be an organ donor. Kim was on the Donor list for over two years! Please also try to lend a hand with huge medical bill by attending Kim's pasta fundraiser. It is November 7th at the Prospect Fire House. Adult tickets are $10 and children under 10 years old pay just $5. Any children under 3 eat free. You can also buy an entire family pass for $25. Tickets can be purchased at the Prospect Congregational Church, 758-4872 or at the firehouse door the day of the event!
