On Saturday July 23, 2011
A group of residents from Lake Bunggee honored Joe Campert the founder of Lake Bunggee.
The event was covered by the Norwich Bulletin and a great article was written honoring this event also!
State Representative Mike Alberts honored Joe with a special citation on behalf of the State of CT General Assembly.
Along with the citation the Residents of Lake Bunggee had a plaque installed on a part of the original Dam that had been set aside for this purpose.
It is a lovely community to live in and the residents honored the man who made it possible.
In 1955 Joe founded both Lake Bunggee and Witches Woods and residents are very thankful!
Joe a very humble man, when asked what prompted him to build the lake, stated it was because he was "born lazy".
When asked to elaborate, he stated that when he was a child he used to walk to Crystal Pond in Eastford and he didn't want to walk so far!
Well anyone who could build two lakes and anyone who know's Joe, can definitely say he is not Lazy but very humble.
Thanks Joe!
We residents Love Lake Bunggee!
I have lived at the Lake since 1987
It is a wonderful lake community!

Join in the Fun at the Black Pond Biathlon at Camp Woodstock - Woodstock Valley CT

On June 4, 2011, YMCA Camp Woodstock will hold the Black Pond Biathlon. This event consists of a half-mile swim and a 5K run at YMCA Camp Woodstock in Woodstock Valley, Connecticut.
The first heat will start at 8 AM as participants begin their half-mile swim at Black Pond. The fee for the race is $45, or $50 the day of the race, and all proceeds benefit the Strong Kids Campaign. This sounds like a great way to kick off the summer for those hoping to do some biathlons or triathlons in 2011, and it helps families to send their kids to camp.
Details and the registration form are found on the Camp Woodstock web site. For details, you can also call 1-800-782-2344. Stop in and sign up!

Day 2:
Two blondes are walking down the street. One notices a compact on the sidewalk and leans down to pick it up. She opens it, looks in the mirror and says, "Hmm, this person looks familiar."
The second! blonde says, "Here, let me see!"
So the first blonde hands her the compact.
The second one looks in the mirror and says, "You dummy, it's me!"
